About the role: 

The Head of Consultant Strategy will be a leader and champion for Headspace Health with National and Regional benefits consultants. This role is responsible for leading the identification and development of senior level partners at designated firms. In this role, strategies will be developed and implemented to position Headspace Health for meaningful revenue growth and retention. 

The successful candidate will work across the Headspace Health enterprise partnering with Product, Marketing, Client Services and the Sales Organization to ensure the effective implementation of distinct go-to-market strategies. Furthermore, this role will work to best engage the Headspace Health Sales and Client Success Teams to ensure ongoing revenue generation through partner firms, while personally maintaining executive-level relationships with all top producing consultants/brokers. 

Responsibilities: 

Success will be measured by the ability of this role to generate greater consideration and increased revenue from key consulting houses. 

  • Build deep relationships with the senior leadership of Headspace Health
  • Maintain deep understanding Headspace Health product lines to better enable the Sales and Client Success organizations and ensure a seamless hand-off occurs when appropriate
  • Develop, educate and implement consulting firm specific growth and turnaround plans
  • Solicit, analyze and share feedback from consultants with internal stakeholders to make necessary adjustments in strategy, approach, and execution
  • Position Headspace Health solutions to assist in consultants’ individual client revenue growth 
  • Work to understand and negotiate firm specific arrangements that competitively position Headspace Health within the mental health arena 

Tactics: 

To effectively engage the top consulting firms and stakeholders, the following will likely be key actions implemented, but not limited to: 

  • Establish a regular education rhythm with key offices within each firm’s network 
  • Participate in consultants’ Innovation Days (or the like) with the goal of influencing what consultants present to their clients 
  • Manage the dossiers and player maps for each firm at the regional and national level
  • Work with marketing to create consultant-specific resources

Requirements: 

  • A proven track record of success working with employee benefits consultants and brokers 
  • 10+ years of progressive direct experience
  • Experience in a business-to-business environment, selling employee benefits, preferably in the Behavioral Health arena
  • A robust network of contacts
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Outstanding presentation skills, including effectiveness in small and large group settings, both in-person and via virtual meeting tools and/or conference calls
  • Strong project and account management skills
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • The ability to work collaboratively with highly-talented sales professionals and team members
  • The ability to energize, develop and build rapport at all levels within an organization
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or a Behavioral Health related  discipline
