Immigration Specialist

In order to support Liftoff’s continued success and ambitious growth goals, we are looking for a highly motivated Immigration Specialist to join the team and support Liftoffers as we continue to scale across the globe.
As Liftoff's Immigration Specialist, you will be a part of the People Operations team and report into the Director, Total Rewards & People Operations. You will support Liftoff’s employees, currently located in eight countries around the world, and support them throughout their employment lifecycle in regard to immigration.
This role can be based out of our Redwood City or San Francisco office.
In your day-to-day, you will:
- Manage the immigration lifecycle for all the applicants and employees
- Oversee Liftoff’s immigration program and liaise with immigration attorneys to assist employees with immigration matters
- Interact with and advise managers and leaders on complex immigration matters. Educate managers and business partners on immigration issues, strategies, and guidelines
- Manage international immigration applications and facilitate information and document collections internally and externally between Liftoff and it’s immigration-related service providers
- Ensure all paperwork, including applications for immigration and visas, are completed accurately and in a timely manner
- Continually evaluate and document current immigration processes and policies, make recommendations for improvements and implement solutions as appropriate
- Ensure world-class end to end customer experience
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with all applicable rules and regulations guided by external counsel
You will enjoy and excel in this role if you have most of these qualities:
- Bring 2+ years working in immigration
- Experience with non-US immigration (experience with Singapore, the United Kingdom pre and post Brexit and the European Union a plus)
- Strong understanding of all employment based U.S. immigrant and non-immigrant visas
- An understanding of time sensitivity with immigration related matters and a get the job done mentality
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as an ability to give and receive open, constructive feedback in a way that cultivates trust and respect
- Proven analytical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills
- Experience at a fast-growing technology company, a plus
