About the role

HashiCorp is looking for a high-caliber Information System Administrator who will provide both support to our employees and help grow the infrastructure that helps us scale! The role requires significant hands-on experience, as this person will be working on long-term projects as well as handling day-to-day user support.

You'll report to the Manager - User Support, the  Information Systems Engineer will be a key member of the IT Team, and will operate as a trusted advisor and primary resource for end-user support, as well as multi-functional support for both technical and non-technical groups at HashiCorp. The successful candidate will be comfortable in a fast-paced environment with significant and exciting change.

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Respond to information technology help desk requests and provide assistance via phone, e-mail, remote access, and onsite support; escalating more complex requests to senior staff members.
  • Perform basic configuration, installation and maintenance of workstations, laptops, printers, telephones, mobile devices, and other peripherals.
  • Troubleshoot basic software, hardware, and network issues; escalating more complex issues to senior staff members.
  • Train end-users in operating systems, application programs, and basic computer functionality.
  • Assist in creating documentation and training manuals.
  • Assist with meeting room setup of laptops, cisco phones, and other requested items.
  • Help maintain conference room  and telephone room IT and AV systems.
  • Support the on-boarding and off-boarding of employees.
  • Perform software and hardware procurement for staff.
  • Track and maintain IT inventory.
  • Maintain and deploy laptop for new hires and returned laptops from departed employees.
  • Unpack, organize and open boxes of equipment.
  • Schedule Mac repairs to Apple Genius Bar and bring laptop to Apple store.
  • Ship equipment and RMA equipment to FedEx and UPS.

You may be a good fit for our team if you have:

  • At least 3 years helpdesk experience
  • At least 3 years with IAM solutions including user provisioning, role-based access control, authentication, and authorization, such as Okta, SailPoint, CyberArk, PowerBroker, Active Directory, or ForgeRock.
  • At least 3 years of experience tracking tickets via ZenDesk, JIRA or other enterprise ticketing systems.
  • Basic networking and hardware knowledge.
  • Efficient in Windows 10, Apple Mac, iOS, Android, Cloud storage, JAMF.
  • Experience in administration of SaaS applications. 
  • Excellent communication skills and a flexible professional attitude.
  • Affinity for dealing with details and enjoys doing it
  • Ability to operate in high pressure situations, successfully handle multiple priorities and possess a high level of discipline while remaining flexible.
  • Energetic, resourceful and a hands-on individual.
  • Asset Management of IT equipment experience.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs in order to move equipment as necessary.
  • Ability to crawl under a desk in order to access equipment as necessary.
  • Asset Management of IT equipment experience.
  • Incumbent may be on call to provide support services during off-hours.
  • Bachelor’s degree is helpful, but not required.
  • Industry-standard certifications such as CCNA, Google IT Certification, RHCE or Server+ are preferred, but not required.
