Insights Manager

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Brand Insights, the Insights Manager will partner with key stakeholders on the marketing team on all of their research & insights needs. This role will serve as the voice of the consumer, using research and data in order to do so.  The ideal candidate has a strong background in designing impactful research, interpreting data, identifying consumer / talent / market trends, uncovering consumer insights, and helping teams action on the insights. They will be a strong connector with the ability to effectively collaborate and use research & insights to drive high impact, high visibility cross-functional work. 


Responsibilities

  • Be the culture / consumer / talent / market trends expert, with a strong pulse on trends and intelligence data and the ability to translate this into action for many teams (talent, marketing, and other parts of the business)
  • Plan and execute primary research (in-house) with both qualitative and quantitative studies
  • Work with partners in talent and marketing to understand needs and challenges to frame research objectives and plans
  • Continuously develop the voice of our consumer and serve as the consumer expert
  • Proactively create materials beneficial for team education & knowledge
  • Analyze both primary and secondary research (eg crosstabs, syndicated data sources, etc) in order to craft holistic stories
  • Support on brand tracking, creative testing, etc, as well as other needs and scale / standardize solutions when needed
  • Partner with other teams like UX Research and Data / Analytics to tell holistic stories
  • Distribute, manage, analyze, and socialize all primary research, often with tight turnarounds
  • Contribute to the development of thought leadership for Brand Insights team

What skills do I need? 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Psychology, Other Behavioral Science fields, Statistics, Marketing, or related field
  • 5+  years of experience in consumer-focused primary research, trends, and insights / strategy background (preferably at a market research or strategy agency / consultancy, media / entertainment / streaming company, or technology company)
  • Strong pulse on consumer, cultural, and market insights
  • Strong ability to tell stories with data with a strategic mindset
  • Primary research experience, across a variety of market research methodologies and their applications
  • Ability to work in a quick-moving environment and prioritize projects while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving, project management, organization and communication  skills
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with peers, work effectively cross-functionally
  • Confidently have a recommendation or strong POV on best practices and methodologies
  • Excellent communicator, attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Ability to work in ambiguous situations and to problem solve 
  • Experience with Survey tools, Excel and other analytical tools
