Insights Manager

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Brand Insights, the Insights Manager will partner with key stakeholders on the content team on all of their research & insights needs.  This role will work directly with the content team, leveraging consumer research, content analysis, and other methodologies to support key objectives and initiatives for the team.  The ideal candidate has a strong background in designing impactful research, interpreting qualitative and quantitative data, particularly within content and streaming space, and interpreting & socializing data amongst creative teams. They will be a strong connector with the ability to effectively collaborate and use research & insights to drive high impact, high visibility cross-functional work. 


Responsibilities

  • Work with key stakeholders in Content and other functions to utilize research in order to help make key decisions
  • Design and plan primary research end to end, across multiple methodologies (eg questionnaire design, survey programming, qualitative methodologies, analyzing raw data, etc.)
  • Analyze quantitative data, qualitative results, and clearly interpret impact for non-research focused teams to action against
  • Project manage multiple studies simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines and fielding ad-hoc requests in a timely manner
  • Write, share, and present in-depth reports to cross functional teams with actionable insights
  • Represent the voice of the consumer and deeply understand their needs & viewing behaviors
  • Partner with other teams like UX Research and Data / Analytics to tell holistic stories
  • Contribute to the development of thought leadership for Brand Insights team

What skills do I need? 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Psychology, Other Behavioral Science fields, Statistics, Marketing, or related field
  • 5+  years of experience in content or entertainment-focused primary research role (preferably at a media / entertainment / streaming company)
  • Experience with content development tests, concept tests, pilot tests, title tests, market positioning studies, etc.
  • Primary research experience, across a variety of market research methodologies and their applications
  • Strong ability to tell stories with data, and be both strategic & deeply analytical
  • Ability to work in a quick-moving environment and prioritize projects while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving, project management, organization and communication  skills
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with peers, work effectively cross-functionally
  • Confidently have a recommendation or strong POV on best practices and methodologies
  • Excellent communicator, attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Ability to work in ambiguous situations and to problem solve
  • Experience with Survey tools, Excel and other analytical tools
