IT Network Engineer

We are looking for an IT Network Engineer to join our Engineering team, providing network administration and troubleshooting, network architecture and design guidance and testing pre-release products within our corporate network, throughout the development lifecycle. You are highly analytical and able to use your networking skills as part of our Engineering team to help craft a resilient, sophisticated, and creative network that serves as a showcase for all that Meraki can do. Excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and project management abilities are essential. The Meraki IT Engineering team is responsible for the architecture, upkeep, and overall health of Meraki’s internal-facing systems from the network up to the platform. In this role, you will be administering our Corporate Network, which we use to demo with our customers, crafting and maintaining the best example of a Meraki network. Meraki continues to grow at an astonishing pace, and you will help ensure that our systems and services scale appropriately.
During a typical day you could be working on:
- Work with the team to architect and maintain the “best” example of a Meraki network for us to demo to our customers
- Day-to-day management of Meraki’s network infrastructure, including design and architecture.
- Work with Product teams to represent Meraki IT in “Customer Zero” projects
- Test pre-release hardware in our environment, providing feedback to Product teams on performance and functionality
- Configure and set up new and existing Cisco Meraki MX security appliances, MS switches, and MR wireless access points.
- Capture and log traffic to define patterns and optimize the performance of our network
Characteristics of Success:

- Day-to-day management of Meraki’s network infrastructure, using metrics and performance data to drive design and architecture.
- Collects feedback from stakeholders, balancing feature requests with production network performance requirements
- Configures, implements, tests, and maintains all LAN/WAN components and connections
Qualifications:
- Advanced experience architecting and troubleshooting Meraki networks
- Experience implementing voice in a real-world multi-site environment
- Must be organized, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A drive to contribute to the mission of yourself and your teammates, through the work you contribute
- Ability to work autonomously and with a team in a fast-paced environment
- Nice to have: CCNA or higher
