IT Windows Engineer
Come be part of a highly motivated IT engineering team responsible for end-to-end support of a rapidly growing global company. Our team's mission is to enable Fastly's global corporate personnel to perform their various jobs with a minimal amount of technological friction. We are passionate about this, and strive to support all laptop operating systems equally. Currently, most of our fleet is mac with some Linux, but our Windows population is growing fast. We are looking for somebody that is excited about building world-class support for Microsoft Windows, other Microsoft technologies and integrating them into our multi-platform environment. We use Okta for single-sign-on, Slack and Google apps in conjunction with best-in-class enterprise-grade SaaS apps including Salesforce, Zendesk, Zoom, Teem, Jamf, Jira & Confluence.
This is a hands-on role with the opportunity to make a huge impact on a significant portion of our staff’s daily productivity by up-leveling our overall Windows support capabilities.
What You'll Do
- Maintain, support and enhance our Windows endpoint management and back-end infrastructure
- Develop and automate onboarding & Windows laptop deploy processes
- Train & mentor team members on Windows technologies
- Understand & diagnose technical issues across a variety of cloud services
- Contributor to documentation efforts and process improvements
- Collaborate with team in setting direction and roadmap planning
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years in IT engineering role scaling corporate Windows infrastructure
- Excellent interpersonal & customer support skills
- Motivated by helping others, and also not afraid to ask for help
- Fluent in written and spoken English, willing to occasionally travel
- Willingness to seek and develop creative solutions to technological challenges
- Experience managing fleet of Windows laptops via Azure AD/Intune
- Deep knowledge of the Windows registry, PowerShell, drivers and developing unattended/silent installs of Windows operating systems & software.
- Knowledgeable in desktop virtualization and thin client technologies.
