About the Role

The Live Operations Management team exists to ensure every Caviar delivery goes as smoothly as possible. On demand food delivery is an incredibly difficult logistical challenge. By actively monitoring the logistical health of Caviar markets, navigating technical challenges and triaging with other teams, we strive to make every diner experience remarkable.

Caviar is looking for a Live Operations Specialist who will be responsible for the operational health of Caviar’s network every day, every hour that diners need us. As a Live Operations Specialist, your main goal is to maintain and improve logistics in real time - hitting performance targets and resolving problems quickly. You’ll use data to monitor individual markets, exercise good judgment to intervene when needed, and work cross-functionally to address emergent issues.

In order to succeed, you’ll learn the core job of balancing between order demand and courier supply to inform tactical decisions.

Note: This role is for a 3-month contract, July 1 – Sep. 30, 2020. Strong performers may have the ability to transition to full-time opportunities within Doordash after the contract end date.

  • Availability to work flexible shift hours, including nights and weekend shifts
  • A grasp on the fundamentals driving supply and demand in an on-demand marketplace
  • 2+ years of professional work experience, preferably in Operations
  • A proven ability to get things done, manage your time and prioritize for impact
  • A knack for designing your efforts to scale through smart process and collaboration
  • The judgment to operate autonomously while collaborating closely with others
  • A drive to consistently deliver results and exceed expectations
  • A strategic-thinking mentality and a hunger to learn
  • You're a motivated team member with an entrepreneurial mindset and a bias to action
  • BA/BS preferred (or equivalent work experience)
  • Experience managing metrics, KPIs, and OKRs (plus)
  • A deep love of amazing food, restaurants, and the desire to consistently provide an exceptional experience to stakeholders and customers, both internally and externally
