Manager, Research Operations
About the role
Put members first - that’s the Chime User Research team’s north star. Research Operations, in turn, is the machine that powers the connectivity of insights from our members all the way to our products.Â
Research Operations is seeking a manager to help build our team and processes in the short-term, and to help scale and strategize for the long-term. In addition to directly managing 2+ research program managers, you’ll partner to ensure excellence in our participant management, vendor management, governance, and knowledge management systems and processes. The right leader for this role will have strong collaboration, organization, and communication skills to improve team cohesion, increase efficiency, and build a healthy operational framework for our small but fast growing team.Â
This role cannot be performed in the state of Colorado.
In this role, you can expect to
- Help build and evangelize Research Operations at Chime
- Oversee the strategy and implementation of improvements to participant, vendor, knowledge management, and infrastructure processes
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders from Research, Product, Design, Marketing, and Analytics to identify and address operational roadblocks and opportunities
- Provide program management leadership to your direct reports and others, with a focus on establishing scalable best practices
- Provide mentorship and advocate for the career development of your direct reports
- Act as a champion for high caliber user advocacy throughout Chime and champion our members first in all decisions
To thrive in this role, you have
- 7+ years experience as a project or program manager, with at least 1 year of experience managing a team
- A track record of service design experience or executing on a service designed by others, with their participation
- Experience managing vendor relationships, operational tool implementations, and knowledge or asset management systems
- Strong operational experience identifying problems, organizing programs, and assisting with scaling teams
- Demonstrable evidence of being independent and a self-starter, taking initiative in understanding problems and collaborating to solve problems in the face of ambiguity
- Proven to be a big-picture thinker to solve for tomorrow while being able to understand the needs of today
- Worked with and preferably managed remote teams OR geo-distributed teams in research operations, project/program management, or customer success roles
- Worked with Research and in high-growth startup environments (strong plus)
