App Annie delivers data and insights to succeed in the app economy. We are hiring a Manager for Sales planning & Commercial Operations to join our team at our headquarters in San Francisco, CA.

What can you tell your friends when they ask you what you do?

I am part of the Revenue Operations & Strategy (ROPS) team and lead the Global Sales Strategy & Commercial Operations. I work closely with our global field leadership, leading the change required to support our business objectives, and managing our day to day operations.

ROPS organization is the company’s hub to provide business support, critical insights using analytics, ensures cross functional alignment of goals and execution, and helps teams drive strategic partnerships and new initiatives forward.

How will you be doing this?

  • Global Deal Desk Management – Lead a global team to support sales on pricing, deal structuring, product configuration, and business terms to drive velocity of our sales cycle. Own the end-to-end deal review process and ensure compliance with sales and business approval policies
  • Sales Compensation – Develop and manage variable sales compensation plans. Partner with Finance to drive accuracy and efficiency in payouts and compensation administration. Contribute to the development of bonus structures and spiffs
  • Planning & Forecasting – Partner with regional sales leadership teams as well as cross functional leaders (HR, Finance, etc.) to design the field quota/coverage model, drive the annual business planning process which includes defining coverage model, setting and deploying quotas, and leading critical sales planning initiatives
  • Sales Process – Improve efficiency for the sales organization by establishing processes, policies, change management protocol, business requirements, and data governance to ensure an A+ sales process. Identify and execute on sales efficiency initiatives and special projects

What will you bring to the team?

  • 7-10 years of experience, with minimum 3-5 years in a sales operations role (and at least 2 years management experience), preferably with a fast-growing enterprise software company with 50+ commissioned sales representatives 
  • Experience building and scaling a global Deal Desk team in a high-growth environment
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce.com and sales productivity platforms. 
  • Possess A+ business acumen and project management skills, with a strong bias for data-informed decisions-making (and the ability to use XLS and Tableau to dig in)
  • Experience successfully working cross-functionally with Finance, Marketing, and HR to ensure the sales organization’s efficiency and success
  • Passion for helping your teammates learn, grow, and succeed
  • Initiative, flexibility, and resourcefulness to thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment; creativity and energy to be an agent for change
  • Extraordinary interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to influence and motivate
  • A growth mindset, and a sense of humor
  • BA/BS degree preferably in Finance or Accounting, or equivalent experience. An MBA is a plus
