Music Operations Specialist
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join Zoom as its first Music Operations Specialist and be a part of Zoom’s newly formed Content Licensing team. This role will be focused on helping scale Zoom’s music operations efforts and will play a key part in supporting development of Zoom’s automatic content recognition, rights management products, and royalty reporting systems. The person hired for this role will be an active contributor in the product development process, from market research to advising on product design, and responsible for compliance with all reporting requirements. This person will work cross-functionally with a wide variety of stakeholders (including legal, product and finance) to understand product needs and provide feedback on what features should be developed next. This role will report to our head of Content Licensing and will be a remote role.
In this role, you will:
Support music licensing contracts by building processes and technology to comply with and execute on our agreements with media companies
Advise product and engineering teams on content recognition, rights management and royalty reporting obligations
Work with finance and legal to build systems and operations to fulfill on reporting requirements
Support internal teams on their questions related to music rights management and royalty reporting
You must have:
5+ years of experience in digital rights management, music operations or data analysis, preferably at UGC platforms, media, entertainment, or technology companies
3+ years of experience related to royalty reporting and payments
Highly organized, detail-oriented and team-oriented
Demonstrated ability to cohesively collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams and external partners simultaneously
Demonstrated success working independently and exercising sound business judgment
Experience working with spreadsheets, dashboards, and other data tools (Excel and Google Sheets at a minimum; SQL, Tableau, Domo, R, Python, etc. preferred).
Experience in the music industry is a plus.
