As part of the Escalations Team

  • Your average work week might consist of working on assigned critical issues, responding to and monitoring new escalations, automating test plans associated with critical issues, and working on projects
  • Travel to our offices in either San Francisco or Chicago quarterly to connect with the local teams there, and be the first preference when our expertise is needed by our customers on-site (up to 20% travel)
  • We provide the highest level of technical support for all Cisco Meraki products to our customers, partners, account teams, as well as other support engineers. As a member of this team, you'll be empowered to work across departments and mobilize resources.

What you'll be doing

You'll dedicate 60% of your time to operational responsibilities

  • Build, execute, and analyze technical test plans to acquire the data needed to resolve issues in mission-critical networks
  • Model RF, network, and application performance using both in-house and industry-standard tools
  • Navigate difficult political conversations, and strategically take charge of sophisticated situations
  • Read, weigh in on, and scope new and existing defects
  • Collaborate with your local account team regularly to ensure their most pressing issues are being looked after and our customers are satisfied

You'll dedicate 20% of your time to professional development

  • Focus on industry certifications and learn programming languages
  • Attend industry meetups, webinars, and conferences
  • Know the latest networking standard methodologies and competitor solutions
  • Explore new tools and investigate advancements in the field of computer networking

You'll dedicate 20% of your time to expert-level documentation and OKRs

  • Use the knowledge you've gained from operational work to create in-depth documentation to help others
  • Present new discoveries and interesting issues to the Support Team and other Meraki business units to share insights
  • Identify existing process-gaps, and create and deploy projects to correct them

Who you are

  • You have 5+ years of experience as a Senior Network Engineer
  • You have an active enrolment in or completed an associate level networking certification
  • You have experience completing a programming or automation project
  • You have exposure with handling critical issues
  • You have recorded documentation efforts
  • You have proven troubleshooting skills with wireless, routing and switching, network security (such as ASA, Firewall, VPN), or closed-circuit video in large-scale deployments
