Why We Need You
As we prepare for PagerDuty’s next phase of growth we are looking for our leader of executive communications to serve as the brand voice and organizational narrator. You will be a right hand person to our CEO to manage our agencies and drive executive content production to ensure that internal/external messaging remains consistent in brand, quality, tone and aligns with our PagerDuty objectives. In consultation with senior management, you'll also be responsible for the development of communications/plans, issue management, and stakeholder relations strategies. You have experience working with senior executives and learning an executive’s voice. You have proven success with creating and executing upon executive platforms and executive-level communications, such as keynote presentations to large internal and external audiences, blog posts and articles, and executive social media presence. How You Impact Our Vision
- You will develop external communication strategy and practices to support business initiatives, lead the appropriate delivery of external communications for executives, company, product and PD.org programs
- Build the executive communication platform for the CEO and select members of the Executive Leadership Team
- Lead the communications team (including exec comms, product comms, social media and blog) to ensure great execution of strategies, strong results and a high performing team
- Collaborate with PagerDuty executive leadership plus senior leaders within Product, Marketing and Product Marketing teams (and vice versa)
- Partner with key teams in the organization (Legal/Finance/etc.) and keep a record of changing communication policies
- Work with VP Corp Marketing, Director Internal Communications and other key stakeholders in shaping and implementing CEO’s executive platform and messaging
- You will lead alignment of corporate messaging across all audiences
- Manage CEO communications deliverables, from content and messaging development to logistics, including executive organization announcements, internal and external presentations, videos, briefing documents to prepare CEO for events, customer visits, media and analyst meetings
- You will be the CEO’s “voice” and serve the key point of contact for all CEO external communications Advise CEO on speaker delivery
- Implement processes so the Office of the CEO can scale over time. This includes archive for CEO communications, templates for briefing and messaging documents, calendar, metrics, etc.
- Represent the Office of the CEO with professionalism, tact, and a network of strong relationships company wide

- You have a high level of discretion, integrity and trust are vital for success in this role
Minimum Qulifications
- A bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field
- 12+ years of experience in a communications role
- Expertise in developing and implementing communications, marketing, and social media strategy
- Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, design and presentation skills
- Knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media/social media
- Previous experience working with complex policy issues, developing and executing advocacy campaigns
- Hands-on experience identifying, analyzing emerging issues and developing strategic responses
