Senior Legal Operations Analyst, Tools and Technology
Some people go to work.
At RingCentral, you’ll change the way the world works.
RingCentral is the global leader in cloud-based communications and collaboration software. We are fundamentally changing the nature of human interaction—giving people the freedom to connect powerfully and personally from anywhere, at any time, on any device.
We’re a $1.5 billion company that’s growing at 30+% annually and we’re expanding our Legal Team to make sure we stay ahead of the competition.
We’re currently looking for:
The RingCentral Legal Ops team is looking for a Senior Legal Operations Analyst, in any location, to help optimize our legal workflows using tools and technology. We’re obsessed with helping our attorneys get the most value out of their time. We sweat the small stuff so they don’t have to, talking with them to understand their workflows in detail and zeroing in on areas of improvement, both large and small. We think critically about the most efficient ways to get work done, propose solutions, and collaborate with other teams to make them a reality.
We use DocuSign CLM for contract management, Legal Tracker for spend analysis, Tableau for data visualization, and Confluence as our team intranet. We need someone with a critical eye and fresh ideas to help improve upon these systems and work on streamlining our workflows in other areas including automated reporting, law enforcement data requests, legal request intake, IP management, compliance, legal holds, e-discovery, and training.
If you’re excited to make a difference at a high-growth software company and help design scalable legal systems to take our team to the next level, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
Process Improvement
Interview legal team members in all our practice groups (including Commercial, Litigation, Procurement, Corporate, Regulatory, and Privacy) to understand their current workflows and pain points. Become an expert on our legal processes and document them in formal business process models.
Identify ways to streamline legal workflows using both process optimizations and technology solutions. Work with our lawyers to understand their needs and refine requirements.
Prepare formal business requirements documentation describing improved workflows to share with internal IT teams and software vendors. Translate legal needs for technical audiences and use technical knowledge to guide our lawyers towards best in class workflow solutions.
Lead software implementation and process improvement projects for the legal team. Coordinate with other teams within the company including IT, Finance, Sales, and HR on change management and training.
Systems Administration
We’re just getting started with DocuSign CLM and need help to optimize our workflows! Meet with our Legal and Sales teams to understand their needs, analyze and prioritize CLM enhancement requests, and assist with CLM system updates including workflow, Doc Gen, and attribute changes.
Work with our Commercial and Procurement teams to update their contract templates and clause libraries in DocuSign CLM.
Develop new CLM templates by meeting with our Commercial and Procurement teams to understand their contracts and adding merge tags to their static Word documents so they can be generated in CLM.
Partner with our IT team to create test plans and run tests on any new system functionality to confirm everything works as expected.
Be the first level of support for our lawyers negotiating contracts in CLM. Become an expert in our CLM workflows to diagnose issues and propose solutions. Help onboard new team members and prepare written and video training guides.
Knowledge Management
Expand on our internal legal team intranet. Come up with creative ideas for new types of content that would benefit our team and take the reins in creating it! Prepare articles, newsletters, policies, and announcements to provide training information to new hires and current employees. Organize formal training sessions using internal resources, outside law firms, and consultants.
Work with our legal practice groups to prepare legal notices for distribution to the rest of the company. Be adept at translating legal concepts into elegant and concise language tailored to a lay audience.
Identify reporting needs in areas include outside counsel spend, budgeting, contracts, patents, trademarks, and regulatory obligations and establish automated reporting pipelines to surface insights to drive decision making. Export data from our databases, create ad-hoc reports in Excel, make data-driven recommendations, and prepare presentations to legal department leadership.
Anything and Everything Else!
Be flexible and adaptable in new situations to take on whatever work comes our way! Our company is scaling quickly to reach the next level and we’re all ready to jump in and roll up our sleeves on whatever needs to be done.
Be excited for a role that will expand and change over time. Shape your own career progress by identifying areas for improvement within the legal department and having the courage to act on them.
