Ripple is expanding its Compliance team and seeks to hire an experienced BSA/AML & OFAC Program Director. Reporting directly to Ripple’s BSA & Sanctions Officer, this role will be focused on managing day-to-day BSA/AML & OFAC Sanctions program activities and will serve as a subject matter expert to the business on complex AML and global economic sanctions regulatory compliance matters.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Manage the day-to-day BSA/AML & OFAC compliance program obligations of XRP II, LLC, a money services business and wholly-owned subsidiary of Ripple Labs Inc.
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert on BSA/AML & OFAC matters to the business, actively communicating cross-functionally to identify AML and OFAC gaps, implement controls, provide recommendations, and oversee any corrective actions and program enhancements. 
  • Evaluate new business proposals, products and services, initiatives, and partnerships for AML, economic sanctions, and export control regulatory compliance for Ripple and its foreign subsidiaries. 
  • In coordination with the BSA & Sanctions Officer, conduct annual risk assessments and make annual updates to policies, procedures, and other relevant program documents.
  • Under the direction of the BSA & Sanctions Officer, coordinate responses to third-party audits and regulatory exams and lead remediation efforts of any resulting findings and/or corrective actions in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the BSA & Sanctions Officer on quarterly and annual strategic planning priorities to enhance the Program based on new regulations, products and business expansion.
  • Lead the end-to-end implementation of new BSA/AML & OFAC third party analytics tools, draft model documents, and perform annual model validation of both transaction monitoring and sanctions screening tools.
  • Serve as the escalation conduit for all due diligence and investigation reviews, providing guidance and feedback to BSA team members as needed. And, perform root-cause analysis and remediation oversight.
  • Oversee annual QA review and internal audit activities of BSA/AML & OFAC processes and lead remediation efforts of any resulting findings and/or corrective actions in a timely manner.
  • Under the direction of the BSA & Sanctions Officer, build, enhance and deliver BSA/AML & OFAC regulatory compliance training to all Ripple employees. 
  • Develop BSA/AML & OFAC program presentations and key metrics to present to internal and external stakeholders.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  • 10+ years of BSA/AML & OFAC experience
  • 2+ years of people management experience
  • Strong demonstrated knowledge of BSA/AML & OFAC regulations and requirements
  • Proven ability to understand complex AML & OFAC risk and operational issues and develop practical and risk-based solutions
  • Ability to provide practical, strategic and business-oriented advice
  • Ability to effectively present on BSA/AML & OFAC topics to internal and external parties
  • Proven ability to oversee multiple concurrent projects
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; at ease communicating and presenting to Senior Management
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Experience with technology and/or financial services companies
  • Must be CAMS certified
