Senior Manager, Freelancer Fraud & Identity Policy

The Risk and Compliance team is charged with making Upwork the safest place to get work done. We are looking for a quantitatively driven, detail focused and business-savvy person to lead our Identity and Freelancer Fraud strategy and operations. You’ll play a meaningful role working with Product, Legal and Analytics teams to build programs that help us better understand who our customers are throughout their lifecycle on Upwork to improve marketplace dynamics, enhance trust, reduce fraud, and elevate the Upwork brand.
Your Responsibilities:
- Set the standard for identity policies at Upwork to ensure every profile accurately represents the person continuously getting work done
- Translate those policies into actionable processes to ensure accurate actions by the team and fair customer experiences
- Partner with Operations and Analytics teams to continuously improve our processes and ensure the accuracy of our detection
- Communicate and report overall status, primary metrics, key issues and solution plans to senior management
What it takes to catch our eye:
- At least 6 years of work experience in a risk, trust, or policy roles
- Success in running complex and multi-faceted programs from conception to completion
- Managing large distributed teams
