What you’ll do

As the Senior Manager of P2P Operations, you will lead Segment’s end-to-end vendor management, spend, and payment policies and process. You will own and build out our procurement and accounts payable function, own our newly launched P2P tool, and define, implement, and enforce best-in-class policies and processes for all types of spend. You will be empowered with visibility to the entire organization and will partner cross-functionally to deliver value across all areas of the P2P process.

  • Own and build out global P2P processes and policies including all disbursements (vendor payments, employee travel/expense reimbursements and credit card payments)
  • Lead, evaluate and maintain global and scalable P2P systems and processes 
  • Engage the entire company at Segment through emails, trainings, all-hands presentations, etc. to increase awareness and ensure a successful program
  • Lead a tight vendor review, approval, onboarding and offboarding process, including partnering with each stakeholder including Business Owner, Legal, Security, and Finance 
  • Act as a liaison between internal and external parties to efficiently drive the  planning, supplier selection, RFx, contract review, negotiation and approval process to completion
  • Set purchasing and procurement policies and guidelines (thresholds, approved vendors, etc)
  • Create a category management framework, provide spend analytics and recommend opportunities to manage cost, consolidate vendors and gain pricing and quality efficiencies
  • Maintain efficiency and accuracy in daily procure-to-pay operations, including managing resources and setting and monitoring KPIs
  • Partner with Finance to ensure accuracy of accruals, including providing analytics on open requisitions, purchase orders and unpaid invoices
  • Partner with Tax to ensure payment compliance; own year-end 1099 reporting and related processes

We are seeking a professional who is looking to be the initial hire to lead and build out our P2P operations function. This role requires a strategic thinker and someone who is prepared to “roll up their sleeves.” This role also requires interaction across the organization, globally across all levels, in order to create a seamless end-to-end P2P cycle. The right candidate will possess strong communication, project management and organizational skills. They will have experience scaling operations, systems and policies to support a fast-paced and growing company.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, or related field
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, Coupa experience a plus
  • Proven experience creating proposals, evaluating vendors and providing recommended improvements to a vendor procurement process design for a fast growing company
  • A desire to build strategic insights through analysis and communication with different departments
  • In-depth understanding of industry trends in contracting and supplier management practices
  • Ability to increase the velocity and transparency for company departments going through the P2P process from start to finish
  • Top-notch communication, analytical and organization skills, including experience manipulating data to derive insights for senior management or executives
  • Leader and self-starter with ability to own projects from initial inquiry to completion
