Until recently, the power to create for the web was limited to a very small fraction of people, often requiring complex code, conflicting libraries, and separate Ph.Ds in both Dental Surgery and Clinical Laboratory Science.

At Webflow, our education efforts empower people from all walks of life to learn how to create for the web. The vast majority of our educational offerings are made available for free on Webflow University: our learning resource for everything web design and web development.

As we expand our team of technical writers, we’re looking for an experienced manager to grow and support our customer-facing documentation efforts across the Education organization. As the Senior Manager, Technical Documentation, you’ll be responsible for leading our team of technical writers to deliver comprehensive documentation for Webflow’s products and services.

As a Senior Manager, Technical Documentation you’ll … 

  • Lead and develop a team of world-class technical writers. Our education organization is widely known for the quality of its teaching, and we’re looking to level up and dramatically expand our technical documentation to offer an unmatched learning experience. You’ll manage and grow a team of technical writers to develop and maintain all user-facing technical documentation.
  • Own and grow the entire Webflow University curriculum. As Webflow offers a visual interface for HTML and CSS, millions of users come to Webflow University to learn the principles of web design and web development — not just Webflow! You’ll build out and optimize the learning and certification paths on Webflow University, from managing the production of individual articles that solve for common customer challenges to owning the curriculum design for major courses and product areas. If it gets people excited about building for the web, we’re going to do whatever it takes to work with you on it!
  • Produce high-quality written documentation. We’re 100% serious about our investment in technical writing, and we’re looking to build out one of the best documentation teams on the planet. You’ll set the bar for the quality and breadth of all technical writing in our curriculum, and provide feedback and guidance to our talented technical writers so they can clear that bar.
  • Identify, measure, and solve for frequent user questions and pain points. You’ll work closely with our Customer Engagement Team (support, sales, success, and partners) to build and maintain high-impact documentation that solves for real customer challenges and opportunities at scale. Since technical documentation can often help users realize the full potential of Webflow (and even customize beyond what Webflow natively supports today), your work here will help empower millions of people to create for the web

About you 

You’ll thrive as a Senior Manager, Technical Documentation if you:

  • Are an experienced manager who excels in coaching and developing a team of writers
  • Have significant experience managing documentation and technical writing projects
  • Are a thoughtful, direct, and kind communicator, both verbal and written — and can train and coach others to achieve at this level
  • Love creating alignment among different functions in an organization, fostering healthy team collaboration, and building an environment of operational excellence and psychological safety
  • Love to learn from our customers and collaborate with different teams to solve complex problems
  • Can effectively balance long-term strategy and short-term goal execution
  • Strongly believe our education efforts can make a continuous and dramatic difference in helping us achieve Webflow’s dual missions: to empower everyone to create for the web — and lead impactful, fulfilling lives while we do it
