Senior Network Engineer (Multiple Openings)
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for the design, implementation and operation of RingCentral’s global networks to ensure the network infrastructure is operating within design specifications.
JOB DUTIES:
- Design complex and efficiently operable networks to support real-time protocols
- Research and recommend innovative and, where possible, automated approaches for identifying and fixing network issues
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud SaaS quality issues related to VoIP, Video and FoIP telephony platforms and applications
- Interface with users facing network-related service quality issues and resolve issues
- Implement fault isolation, service recovery and incident analysis
- Debug voice quality trends and other network-related issues using big data dashboards and other diagnostic tools
- Continuously identify and leverage new technologies or methodologies to improve the network and infrastructure
- Monitor and manage the capacity and performance of existing network infrastructure
- Manage the operation of RingCentral’s global network environment
- Execute network-related projects to improve the existing network infrastructure
- Execute routine changes, provisioning services and deployments
- Work with engineering teams to contribute to the design and architecture of new voice and video services to optimize service quality
- Work with network security and monitoring product developers and vendors to evaluate products for compatibility with RingCentral’s network, develop proofs of concept and install pilots
- Develop standards, procedures and documentation for management of the network infrastructure.
REQUIRED SKILLS/TOOLS:
- Experience with policy-based routing Juniper; TCP/IP; QoS technologies; MPLS; SSL Offload; Overlay SDN solutions (VXLAN/EVPN); load-balancing solutions A10, F5, IPVS; network HA mechanisms VRRP, LACP, RTG and MC-LAG; analysis tools WireShark, iperf, tcpdump, lookinglass is required.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:
- U.S. Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering or a related field plus two (2) years of related experience, or U.S. Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering or a related field plus five (5) years of related experience, is required. Within the foregoing parameters, any suitable combination of education, training and experience is acceptable.
