Asset Management function is to provide software and hardware asset transparency, manage inventory, assist to make the procurement process more efficient and create variance reporting of all Cruise IT owned assets; With a focus to manage cost and assist with securing Cruise assets. As an early member of this team, you are an expert in Software Asset Management, but are looking to broaden your expertise in overall IT Asset Management (Software, Hardware and Mobility). This function is part of the Infrastructure Decision Support(IDS) team, whose mission is to provide input into company-wide infrastructure strategy, advise on key decisions affecting budget, provide capacity planning and performance consultative expertise to various Cruise-wide stakeholders in engineering and finance.
- Help drive the formation of a best-in-class IT Asset Management function, with an emphasis on automation, self-service and efficiency
- Conduct internal software license and subscription audits to ensure Cruise is receiving the most value from its software/subscription spend
- Implement an automated usage-based Software re-harvesting policy via available or new tools
- Act as the main point of contact from Infrastructure and IT for all software renewals, aggregating and forecasting demand through a data-driven approach
- Track and report on-going software renewals (on-going 12-month outlook) for Infra Leadership monthly reviews
- Assist with vendor negotiations
- Project manage continuous improvements to the IT Asset Management process, which may include the implementation of new Asset Tracking systems
- Act as a liaison with Global Purchasing to resolve order issues
- Manage and resolve Accounts Payable invoice questions
- Review stock quantities to and keep up to date with IT department needs (this includes Software, Laptops/Desktops & Peripherals)
- Maintain accurate purchasing, pricing and cost data on all products
- Supervise tracking and receiving of all deliveries into asset management system
- Provide ad-hoc reports, queries and analysis on request
- Help drive quarterly audit process for HW (Infrastructure, Laptop/Desktop and Mobile)
What you must have:
- 5+ Years of experience working in Software Asset Management
- 8+ Years of experiencing working in IT or a technical role
- 2+ Years of leadership experience
- Strong working knowledge of IT Asset Management tools
- Self-disciplined and thrives in fast paced environments
- Excellent communication skills
- Attention to detail and a passion for correctness
- Expert in Excel or Google Sheets
