Solution Architect, Category Management & Operations - Location Flexible
Role Description
Category Manager at Dropbox is responsible for developing and executing Sourcing Strategy across Cloud Engineering Organizations. We're looking for a self starter who will thrive in an often-times ambiguous environment and isn’t afraid of a challenge. The Category Manager;
- Enterprise Architect, leverage experience in IT Application Services Category - IT Project Development / Application Maintenance Support / SaaS implementation.
- Deep market knowledge of available technologies across; Application Services & SaaS
- Experience partnering with Developers in integrating SaaS solutions into Product Design
- Strong ability to determine contractual/financial exposure/ negotiate contracts.
- Expertise to understand contract risks and to work with other parts of the organization in crafting tactics and strategies for risk mitigation.
- Experience in IT Governance, Compliance, Privacy and InfoSec requirements
- Where applicable, understanding of government and industry regulations that will influence contracting approach and vendor behavior (for example, SOX, GDPR).
- Strong ability to communicate with users, legal, sourcing, business leaders and engineering to draft contracts that align technical requirements with business goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead Enterprise contract/pricing negotiations (i.e SAAS, POC, Service Agreements)
- Facilitate New Technology evaluation and implementation (Solution Reviews)
- Reconcile Software Budget Forecast against Actuals leveraging spend analysis
- Partner with Developers leveraging market intelligence to define technology roadmaps, improve existing tools and or deprecate/sunset non-essential software.
- Partner with Product Management Team, to explore business opportunities relative to Software integrations.
Requirements
- 5-10 years experience as a Enterprise/Solution Architect.
- 2-5 years of Sourcing / Vendor Relationship Management experience
- Experience in building and developing vendor partnerships at the Executive level
- Proven success and experience in providing direction to technical/engineering teams
- A diverse technical acumen--actively contribute to technical discussions, proactively identify challenges and risks, working closely with engineers and product manager on addressing challenges, and form mitigation plans.
- You have the ability to communicate complex plans effectively.
