Who we are:

MasterClass is transforming online education by enabling anyone in the world to learn from the very best.  We are deconstructing what makes an actor able to cry on demand, how an athlete defies gravity, and what it takes to write a bestseller.  Our online learning content is available to students anywhere anytime, which supports our mission to ignite the greatness in others.

We are a quickly growing VC-funded startup based in San Francisco, with additional offices in Los Angeles.  We have created online classes taught by famous masters— Gordon Ramsay, Serena Williams, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Sara Blakely, David Sedaris, Bobbi Brown, Timbaland, Anna Wintour and many more to come.

Capacity to Grow/Responsibilities:

• Manage and develop office staff.
• Oversee and maintain facilities equipment, copiers and copy rooms, pantries, supplies, reception, conference rooms, storage rooms, 1st aid supplies.
• Direct vendor activities that include the scheduling of repair and maintenance needs as required; closely monitor progress to ensure quality of work.
• Monitor and review internal and building work orders to ensure that assignments are responded to and completed in a timely manner.
• Coordinate and manage moves and restacks.
• Manage space planning; workspace assignments, coordinate moves and restacks; maintain accurate floor plans and seating charts.
• Manages vendor relationships and ensures billing procedures are accurate.  
• Responsible for facilities invoice processing. 
• Develop and manage a high performing facilities and safety support team
• Create a positive atmosphere of professionalism and support. Build strong partnerships with IT and other key stakeholders. 
• Inspect and provide direction and follow-up with janitorial and other service providers regarding issues that do not meet MasterClass standards.
• Keep our people safe!!! Responsible for safety policies and practices.  Administer emergency broadcast notifications, develop procedures and an overall emergency response system.
• Develop and implement a strong business continuance and emergency response plan (i.e., earthquake, fire, natural disaster, active shooter or other disruptor), coordinate and build relationships with local authorities.
• Ensure MasterClass is following all regulations and best practices in response to Covid or other health emergencies.
• Ensure our facilities are in compliance with local and state ordinances.

Responsibilities of the role

•  Able to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
•  Effectively manage through stressful situations
• Ability to partner closely with the Sr. Director of People Ops to consistently make effective, high quality decisions. 

Requirements:

• Available to travel up to 50% of time
•  Strong working knowledge of OSHA.
