Vice President, Business Unit Lead - Research Services (Multiple Locations)

Evidation is looking for an experienced leader to grow our evidence generation business (research services).
Your responsibilities will include selling and delivering our evidence generation offerings to enterprise customers including biopharma, medtech, and digital health companies. You will drive increasing productivity by improving the end-to-end process from lead generation, close-in account marketing, deal closure, and ensuring customer success to drive repeat business and referrals. You will shape the product offering to ensure product-market fit, manage marketing activities, drive sales directly, and enable the Business Development team to be more effective.
This role will be responsible for developing a couple of key accounts to scale across the full Evidation value proposition. We expect this person to apprentice members of the Business Development team via coaching, mentoring, being a role model, and helping them raise their game. In addition to directing the sales of research services in the full set of accounts, you will help formalize key Account Management disciplines by defining and instituting best practices and role modelling them on your key accounts.
You will need to apply your past experience towards developing and selling our clinical study and evidence generation products, as well as leverage your skill at mastering the detail and complexity of implementation, in order to drive both high-impact sales and flawless delivery. Your ability to communicate, listen, and build rapport at all levels within an organization will enable you to build lasting customer relationships and help us expand our market presence and influence. The ideal candidate must have a passion for developing and training the next generation of customer success leaders, in addition to having previous experience building processes and capabilities that help institutionalize learnings and best practices.
This role will report to the Chief Commercial Officer and will be a standing invitee to the Operating Committee (Evidation’s top leadership team).

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Grow the research business faster than current trajectory
- Own portfolio of client engagements for the evidence generation and continuous access subscription offering
- Build and grow strong strategic customer relationships within account base, and create a sales strategy plan to land and expand our presence at customer sites
- Organize delivery of studies to a high standard and in a timely manner, ensuring that the customer is satisfied and that our solutions and capabilities can be more effectively integrated and embedded within client organizations
- Achieve revenue and margin targets while ensuring that engagements are strategically in line with our standard product offerings and not overly custom or complex
- Develop key account functional capabilities - including researching target opportunities, generating account leads, building a sales pipeline, client retention approaches, and measuring and communicating impact and value (eg ROI, cost avoidance, outcome metrics)
- Develop teams and nurture the next generation sales and customer team talent
- Standardize customer team practices and codify institutional knowledge, best practices in customer engagement and sales
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree; MBA preferred
- 10+ years of experience in selling and delivering research and real world evidence (RWE) services to pharmaceutical, medtech, digital health, or consumer tech companies
- 4+ years experience in key account management leadership role supporting pharma, medtech, or big tech clients
- Experience selling to medical, clinical, RWE, and digital groups
- Demonstrated ability to sell and execute research study projects and profitably price engagements
- Broad knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, particularly Medical/Clinical functions, and in-depth and long-standing relationships at client companies at a senior level
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance environment in the US
- Proven leadership in growing client relationships, developing teams, standardizing customer team practices, and codifying institutional knowledge into usable forms
