We are looking for an accomplished leader who has a passion for growing people and organizations and delivering successful results. You will have experience anchoring programs that incorporate strategy, insights, data, and processes that result in timely and large impact decisions. You are passionate about helping growing organizations and businesses make decisions that span multiple years in a timely manner and at the same time are comfortable with pushing to new limits when there is ambiguity in the mix. You have demonstrated experience with creating and improving transformational programs across an organization.
PagerDuty’s Vision for Operations & Programs in Engineering
Incorporating agility in planning, process, and programs to ensure Engineering is scaling efficiently and meeting the demands of the business.
This part of the Engineering organization is designed to bring together three critical pillars under one executive leader to influence strategy and directly impact positive outcomes for the department and the PagerDuty business:
- Agile Leadership & Program Management (Delivery Management) - subject matter experts in agile methodologies and program management enabling teams across product & engineering to deliver value in a continuous and repeatable manner at scale
- Business Operations - manage department level financials, headcount strategy, and department metrics to facilitate effective decision making, process management, and achievement of results
- Learning & Development - partnering closely with the People/HR org to build upon new employee onboarding, this team owns design and execution of: specific onboarding practice for new Engineering team members, productivity of individuals, continuous learning/education through department sponsored programs that foster productivity, growth, and our most talented people to thrive.
- Recruit and retain top talent
- Strong partnership across Engineering, Product, Marketing, Finance, and People organizations
- Align your organization’s goals with PagerDuty’s in a manner that provides clarity of purpose, motivation, and inspires creativity
- Contribute to the Engineering organization having a compelling long term vision and strategy that is communicated regularly to inspire confidence and generate excitement
- Anticipate strategic and scaling related challenges with thoughtful long term planning through collaboration with key stakeholders
- Embrace opportunities to take new risks to learn quickly
- Support a culture that allows the organization to champion the customer, aim higher, and continuously improve in everything it does
- Partner closely with Product, Marketing, Sales, and Business/Corporate Development leaders and departments to ensure we (together) deliver the best platform and product offerings that yield value for our customers.
- Consistent delivery against commitments, with ample visibility into progress, challenges, and outcomes
- Strategic partnership with the SVP Engineering for corporate development activities that help the company grow and lead the market
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role and capacity
- Strong leadership skills that showcases by leading through influence across functional and organization boundaries
- Excellent communications skills to engage with both business and technical audiences
- Proven track record of innovative, creative, and results driven outcomes
- Extensive experience with architecting and developing large scale distributed systems and developing enterprise level technology roadmapsExperience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience working with team members across various geographies
- Experience in evaluating talent and products in mergers and acquisitions
- Experience in driving architecture throughout a product portfolio across a diverse technology organization
