About the Role
Chime’s Workplace team creates programming that cultivates employee engagement, and builds spaces that enable Chimers to do their best work. A key member of the Workplace team, the Food and Beverage Program Specialist will have primary responsibility for day-to-day management of Chime’s food and beverage program. This is an exciting opportunity, as you’ll contribute to expanding the program at a time of rapid growth for the company, and designing the culinary spaces at our new 200k sq ft SF headquarters. We’re looking for a collaborative team member who is energized by the idea of joining a workplace program at a high-growth tech company.
Responsibilities
- Create impactful, innovative culinary programming that builds community and drives employee engagement.
- Manage culinary vendors: contribute to RFPs, oversee day-to-day operations, and evaluate vendor performance.
- Administer the culinary program budget.
- Evaluate alternate service models that will scale with Chime’s growth, continuously iterating on and improving program offerings.
- Assist with the architectural design of culinary program spaces: commissary kitchen, coffee bars and micro-kitchens.
- Design systems and processes that will scale to multiple sites.
- Provide Culinary support to internal events and other employee engagement programming as needed.
- Be a culture evangelist, with a thoughtful approach to contributing to a workplace program which delivers an exceptional employee experience.
Requirements
- 5+ years experience in a culinary-specific role on a Workplace team, ideally at a high-growth tech company.
- 2+ years management experience in a vendor-supported food program.
- Experience managing a budget of $1M+
- Passion for food! Familiarity with dietary restrictions, alternative cuisines, dining trends, and accommodating a diverse group of eaters.
- Proven background in creating and activating innovative culinary programming.
- Strong drive to make things happen; you’re self-directed and comfortable navigating ambiguity.
- Flexible, able to readily adapt to change, with a customer focused approach to your work.
- Strong operational mindset, and the ability to manage competing priorities and projects.
- Experience with building out a commercial kitchen is a plus.
- Familiarity with Gsuite
- Ability to lift 30 lbs
- Availability to work early morning and the occasional late evening and weekend as required.
