Job Description

What you'll do:

  • Oversee daily operations of local office
  • Hire, train and develop local Workplace team
  • Partner with Head of Workplace Experience on all employee moves ensuring a minimal impact to business
  • Maintains strong partnerships with local Workplace business partner’s proactively communicating Workplace initiatives to foster a positive working relationship as new procedures are created that impact all employees
  • Ensures spaces are clean, safe and employees have everything they need to do their job
  • Maintains a current headcount by department and utilizes space planning software/documents to manage department location and growth
  • Maintains a positive working relationship with Landlord proactively communicating any issues/concerns that arise to the Head of Workplace Experience Manager
  • Partners with Physical Security to roll out a health/safety program for their hub
  • First aid and CPR certified and holds an emergency warden position
  • Oversees local Workplace vendors and budgets including but not limited to catering, pantry, plant services, janitorial, shredding, office supplies
  • Creates facilities maintenance recommendations for Head of Workplace Experience and implements (HVAC maintenance, carpet cleaning, kitchen appliance maintenance, patch & paint etc.)
  • Owns event planning budget and the high level scope of work for office (able to delegate tasks to Coordinators as needed)
  • Partners with Head of Workplace Experience and other Workplace Experience Manager’s to draft and publish Workplace policies and procedures
  • Cross trained to provide “out of office” for the Head of Workplace Experience (able to own employee moves, company events, vendor management, familiar with location budgeting)
  • Cross trained to provide “out of office” for both the coordinator and receptionist
  • Based in Toronto office

  • 4+ years of people management experience
  • 2+ years of facilities experience
  • Highly organized and detail oriented within a fast-paced environment
  • Strong customer focus and highly resourceful - an “anything is possible” attitude
  • Flexible and able to occasionally work after-hours for emergencies
  • Highly collaborative with a great degree of interpersonal savvy and professionalism
  • Able to manage ambiguity with ease
  • Able to operate a hand truck and lift 50+ pounds

Nice to have:

  • Experience with tenant improvement projects preferred
  • Bonus: Experience with AV or IT helpdesk set up
  • Working knowledge and experience with HVAC / MEP
  • Project management & budget tracking
  • Knowledge of Canada safety regulations and ergonomics

How do you collaborate with other teams in the company?

We do a lot of cross-functional work with other teams to create promotions, campaigns, articles, social media content, videos, and more. We also provide regional insights to stakeholders and exchange ideas to help grow each market. I love looking back and seeing how much my role has evolved since I started working at Wish!

My goal coming out of university was to learn how to scale the infrastructure of a growing company. Larger tech companies have mostly solved these scalability problems and Wish gave me the opportunity to solve tough problems hands on. Wish is now handling 100x the traffic since I joined and I'm still learning new things everyday.

My role as a Brand Protection specialist at Wish revolves around reviewing and actioning on merchants that infringe on our Intellectual Property policy. My work will hopefully create a fair and trustworthy platform for both our users and merchants.
