Discord is used by over 200 million people every month for many different reasons, but there’s one thing that nearly everyone does on our platform: play video games. Over 90% of our users play games, spending a combined 1.5 billion hours playing thousands of unique titles on Discord each month. Discord plays a uniquely important role in the future of gaming. We are focused on making it easier and more fun for people to talk and hang out before, during, and after playing games.

The Regulatory Compliance team operates as Discord's regulatory intelligence hub, managing complex compliance requirements across 200+ jurisdictions with rapidly evolving laws around content moderation, user safety, privacy, and platform governance. We build and manage comprehensive compliance programs for Discord's most critical regulatory challenges, including the EU Digital Services Act, UK Online Safety Act, Australian Online Safety Act, and Take It Down Act, while conducting strategic horizon scanning to prepare for emerging regulations 12-24 months in advance.

Our work spans large-scale program implementation, compliance auditing, transparency reporting, crisis response coordination, and building the operational infrastructure that ensures no regulatory deadline is missed. We collaborate extensively with Legal, Product, Engineering, Policy, Trust & Safety, and business teams to design risk-based compliance workflows and implement scalable processes that enable Discord to operate confidently in an increasingly complex global regulatory landscape.

As a Platform Compliance Program Manager, you'll own critical compliance programs that keep Discord audit-ready and transparent across global regulatory regimes. Your day might include leading quarterly transparency report preparation with cross-functional stakeholders, conducting evidence collection and testing for annual compliance audits, developing and refining risk assessment frameworks for evolving regulatory requirements, coordinating complex regulatory implementation projects across Legal, Engineering, and Trust & Safety teams, and building repeatable processes that scale our compliance capabilities as obligations expand globally. You'll be instrumental in transforming reactive compliance into proactive regulatory leadership.

This person will report into the Platform Compliance Lead.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Own and manage Discord's transparency reporting program, ensuring timely, accurate submissions that meet evolving regulatory standards across our global footprint
  • Lead annual compliance audit cycles, expanding audit maturity and capabilities as our compliance program evolves
  • Develop, improve, and manage risk assessments for emerging compliance requirements, working with cross-functional teams to implement risk mitigation strategies
  • Drive mid-tier regulatory projects requiring sophisticated cross-team coordination, from scoping through implementation and verification
  • Build and optimize compliance processes, frameworks, and systems for repeatability and scale as Discord's obligations expand globally
  • Collaborate with Legal, Engineering, Product, Policy, and Trust & Safety teams to translate regulatory requirements into practical, auditable compliance workflows
  • Support the Platform Compliance Lead with strategic regulatory planning and executive-level reporting on compliance program status

What you should have

  • 4-6 years of compliance, regulatory, or program management experience, preferably in technology or other regulated industries
  • Proven program management skills with demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives from design through successful implementation
  • Deep understanding of compliance frameworks, audit methodologies, and risk assessment practices
  • Experience building and managing transparency reporting, compliance documentation, or regulatory submission processes
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate them into actionable compliance programs
  • Excellent project management capabilities including stakeholder management, timeline tracking, and cross-functional coordination
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with ability to present complex compliance topics to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Systems thinking approach to building scalable, repeatable compliance processes

Bonus points:

  • Direct experience with EU Digital Services Act (DSA), UK Online Safety Act, GDPR, or other platform/content moderation regulations
  • Background in trust & safety, content moderation, or platform governance roles
  • Experience conducting or managing regulatory audits or working with external auditors
  • Familiarity with transparency reporting requirements and best practices
  • Understanding of cross-border regulatory compliance in technology platforms
  • Experience with compliance management tools, audit documentation systems, or project management platforms
