**Travel to Office expectations**
For Remote Roles: If this role is remote, there will be in-office events that will require travel to and from the Mississauga and/or Salt Lake City office. These will include, but not limited to, onboarding, team events, semi-annual and annual team meetings.
For Hybrid Roles: If this role is Hybrid, there will be an expectation to reside within commutable distance to the office/location specified in the job listing. This will include, but not limited to, weekly/bi-weekly/monthly events in the office with your specific team. This is a requirement for this role.
Position Summary:
We are looking for a Principal Salesforce Architect, reporting to the Director – Enterprise Architecture, to work with the IT team, product teams, as well as senior executives to drive the design of our enterprise domain taxonomy. As a Salesforce architect, you will be required to represent deep expertise on modernization and transformation of mission critical applications facilitated by aligning these applications to their core business domains. The ideal candidate will champion business and technology alignment of core capabilities ensuring the buildout of an enterprise taxonomy framework which will underpin domain roadmaps and technology transformation. We are seeking a candidate who has great breadth and depth of experience when it comes to developing business relationships and ensuring technology alignment.
Key Responsibilities:
•Execute the strategic vision for the Enterprise Architecture practice under the guidance of leadership
•Collaborate with domain architects, engineers, and leaders to develop technical standards, reference architectures, design patterns, opinion papers, and architecture decision frameworks that guide technology solutions, especially those requiring integration of multiple platforms, operating systems, and applications across the business.
•Develop and manage a technical strategy and coordinates adoption. This individual will be responsible for architecting enterprise guidance that conveys standard processes and common pitfalls for system design, infrastructure integrations, application development practices, and application runtime principles.
•Manage the architecture review process by creating validation checklists, reviewing architectural artifacts, and providing domain specific guidance to drive architectural alignment across the enterprise.
•Translate business requirements into well architected solutions that best leverage the Salesforce com platform
•Design and develop effective and efficient end to end solutions for complex business problems
•Apply architectural and engineering concepts to design solutions that meet operational requirements, such as scalability, maintainability, security, reliability, extensibility, flexibility, availability, and manageability.
•Manage the technical delivery of custom development integrations and data migration elements of a Salesforce com implementation
•Technical Strategy Development: Develop and execute a comprehensive technical strategy for Salesforce platform encompassing architecture design development integration and maintenance
•Conduct research and develop Proof of Concepts on emerging technologies and implementation toolkits in support of anticipated development efforts and recommend technologies that are functionally robust and cost effective.
•Research, enforce, and drive the adoption of design patterns throughout the enterprise and evangelize standard processes for solution design and development.
•Contribute to producing target state solution architectures, conducting architectural assessments and gap analyses, and shaping the overall solution strategy and roadmap
•Partner with data architect(s) to support data management practices, ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance
•Partner with integration architect(s) to support integration strategies ensuring seamless communication and data flow across various systems
•Work closely with solution architects to ensure that individual solutions align with the overall enterprise architecture
•Collaborate with business leaders to create business capability models that align technology capabilities with business needs
•Contribute to building a vibrant ‘learning community’ within the enterprise architecture discipline, fostering continuous improvement and consistently delivering value to various business units
Required Experience & Skills:
•Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
•5+ years of experience as a senior domain architect or senior enterprise architect.
•Prior experience as a Principal Salesforce Architect in a global organization working with Salesforce Connected Apps (applications from SalesForce App Exchange)
•Proven experience designing and delivering complex B2B SaaS Salesforce solutions.
•Led at least two large-scale Product-to-Cash (CPQ/RCA) implementations from design to go-live, with 5+ years of experience defining Salesforce architecture across quoting, contracting, fulfilment, billing, revenue, customer success, and customer support.
•Familiarity with managed packages such as Gong, DocuSign CLM, Kantata, Gainsight, Showpad, Qualtrics, or similar enterprise apps would be a plus
•Experience with planning and leading architecture delivery for large-scale business and systems transformation programs is a must
•Proven track record of successfully leading large scale Salesforce initiatives from concept to delivery
•Deep understanding of Salesforce architecture capabilities and ecosystem including Sales Cloud Service Cloud Marketing Cloud and Community Cloud or SuccessFactors ecosystem.
•Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
•Salesforce certifications such as Salesforce Certified Technical Architect CTA Salesforce Certified Application Architect or Salesforce Certified System Architect preferred
•5 years of Hands-on enterprise architecture framework experience (TOGAF, C4, Archimate etc.)
•Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication skills
•Previous roles with a focus on data architecture, application or solution architecture, integration, risk management, and technology standards
•Strong understanding of security architecture principles and practices
•Proven experience in business capability modeling and translating business needs into technology solutions
Generative AI Code Assistants - Use of Generative AI Code Assistants (e.g. Github Copilot) and knowledge of latest Generative AI Model capabilities would be an asset.
