About Hightouch

Hightouch’s mission is to empower everyone to take action on their data. Hundreds of companies, including Autotrader, Calendly, Cars.com, Monday.com, and PetSmart, trust Hightouch to power their growth.

We pioneered the Composable Customer Data Platform (CDP), which lets companies use their own data warehouse to collect, prepare, and activate customer data for marketing personalization and business operations. Our new AI Decisioning platform goes a step further,  allowing marketers to set goals and guardrails that AI agents can then use to personalize 1:1 customer interactions. Traditionally, only technical teams had the skills to access and use customer data. With Hightouch, every business user can deliver personalized customer experiences, optimize performance marketing, and move faster by leveraging data and AI across their organization.

Our team focuses on making a meaningful impact for our customers. We approach challenges with a first-principles mindset, move quickly and efficiently, and treat each other with compassion and kindness. We look for team members who are strong communicators, have a growth mindset, and are motivated and persistent in achieving our goals.

What else? We’re based in San Francisco but have team members all over the world. Our Series C put us at a $1.2B valuation, and we are backed by leading investors such as Sapphire Ventures, Amplify Partners, ICONIQ Growth, Bain Capital Ventures, Y-Combinator, and Afore Capital.

Our AI mission

Hightouch's mission has always been to empower customers to harness their data to drive business impact. With the rise of AI and machine learning, we are focused on helping growth teams use the wealth of customer data in their warehouse to make personalized and optimized decisions at a scale far beyond human capabilities.

AI Decisioning enables growth teams to continuously experiment with various creative approaches and strategies, personalize content based on a deep understanding of each customer, and optimize outcomes to drive customers towards the best possible results.

About the Role

We’re seeking a full-stack engineer to join our fast-growing AI Decisioning team, where you’ll help develop an intuitive interface that enables non-technical users to easily engage with advanced ML and AI.

On a typical day, you will be:

  • Architecting and building features end-to-end for a new generation of marketing and growth products
  • Collaborating closely with customers and cross-functional partners—designers, product managers—to understand real-world behavior
  • Working alongside ML engineers to surface insights that empower marketers to make confident decisions.

Looking ahead, AI and machine learning will be the foundation of a new operational paradigm in marketing. Some of the most interesting upcoming challenges for this team include:

  • Building a deep analytics and observability platform to surface key marketing insights
  • Integrating complex ML models into a highly interactive user interface
  • Crafting intuitive interfaces for marketing and growth team to set up complex experiments

Our ideal engineer is someone who has proven experience working closely with product teams to build user interfaces from zero to one. You should be able to independently lead and architect complex frontend systems, but also deeply understand good backend API design and data models.

The salary range for this role is $180,000 - $240,000 USD per year, fully remote and location-independent. We also offer meaningful equity compensation in the form of ISO options, and offer early exercise and a 10 year post-termination exercise window.

Interview Process

Our goal with the interview process is to balance speed with giving both parties opportunities to assess whether there is a strong mutual fit. We will ask you questions, but we want you to ask us questions! Our technical interviews focus on how you design systems because we believe this is the best way for us to see how you work and for you to see how we collaborate. We don’t ask you to write code to solve technical brainteasers that don’t appear in your day to day job.

  • Recruiter Screen [30m]: Introductory call with our recruiting team to get to know each other and see if the role could be a good mutual fit.
  • System Design Interview [60m]: Designing a data processing feature end-to-end.
  • Frontend Interview [90m]: Work with the interviewer to architect and build a complex frontend component.
  • Hiring Manager Interview [30m]: Chat with hiring manager about past experiences and future operating preferences to assess fit on company values and operating principles.
