About the Company:

World is building a real human network designed to accelerate people in the age of AI. As bots and autonomous agents reshape the internet, people, institutions, and applications need a trusted way to confirm who is a real human while preserving privacy. Our products make this possible: the Orb verifies real people, World ID proves it privately, and World App enables and distributes the new applications made possible by this technology. Together, they form a new layer for AI internet.

We’re one of the fastest-growing networks in tech. More than 17 million people across 160 countries have verified with World ID, and we complete over 350,000 verifications each week. World App is already among the most used wallets globally. Developers are integrating World ID to build safer online experiences and create spaces where real people can participate, earn, and be recognized in ways AI simply can’t replicate.

World was founded in 2019 and launched globally in 2023. We are more than 400 people across hardware, software, AI, cryptography, mobile engineering, and global operations. Our teams come from OpenAI, Tesla, SpaceX, Apple, Google, Stripe, Meta, Coinbase, Palantir and MIT Media Lab. We’re backed by leading investors, including a16z, Khosla Ventures, Bain Capital Crypto, Blockchain Capital, Variant, Tiger Global, and Coinbase Ventures, as well as prominent operators and founders across fintech and AI.

World has been featured on the cover of TIME Magazine, highlighted in Fast Company’s Next 5 in Fintech, and explored in a Bloomberg deep dive. The New York Times, Bankless and TechCrunch have all recognized our progress in identity, cryptography, AI, and global-scale hardware deployment. Our leadership is also named to the Time AI 100.

This opportunity will be with Tools for Humanity About the team

The Biometrics and modalities team at World ID develops the foundational technology that makes Proof of Human possible: advanced iris recognition, research into new biometric modalities, and the end-to-end systems that ensure reliability, privacy, and performance at global scale. The team spans ML research, computer vision, hardware, and product development; all working together to enable secure and privacy-preserving human verification for everyone on earth.

About the role

We’re looking for a Product Manager, Human Modalities to define and drive the roadmap that powers Proof of Human. You’ll partner closely with our Biometrics Research and Engineering leads to organize the team’s work across research and product development, establish long-term strategy, and ensure flawless execution.

You’ll sit at the intersection of science, engineering, and product turning cutting-edge research into real-world impact. This is a highly cross-functional, high-visibility role that will influence the future of identity, privacy, and AI alignment and enablement.

In this role, you will:

  • Define, structure, and prioritize workstreams across biometrics research and modalities product development.

  • Build and drive 18–36 month roadmaps with clear milestones, owners, and success metrics.

  • Translate research advances (iris and new modalities) into scalable, privacy-preserving product capabilities.

  • Align priorities and resourcing with World ID Proof of Human, SDK, and developer ecosystem needs.

  • Represent the product area in company-wide communications and executive updates, connecting technical progress to product impact.

  • Establish operational excellence across planning, reporting, and execution for a high-velocity R&D team.

You might thrive in this role if you have:

  • A systems-level mindset. You are able to think from research pipelines to user outcomes.

  • Strong technical fluency in ML, computer vision, or biometric systems; able to go deep enough to earn credibility with research and engineering teams.

  • Experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary programs that span software, hardware, and data science.

  • A track record of turning scientific or technical innovation into shipped, user-facing products.

  • Exceptional communication skills. You are able to translate deep tech into clear strategy for executives and partners.

  • A bias toward clarity, measurable impact, and cross-functional alignment.
