About Plasmidsaurus

Plasmidsaurus is on a mission to accelerate new cures and promote a healthier planet by unlocking a new level of productivity for scientists who use DNA tools to bring their ideas to life. Our DNA sequencing tools are used daily by thousands of innovators, including Nobel prize winners, dynamic biotech startups, research labs, and DIY biohackers. Our global network of labs operates day and night to enable world-changing discoveries. In 2024, we saved these scientists 2 million hours of time, radically accelerating their research. Every team member at Plasmidsaurus plays a crucial role in driving forward the future of biotech research.

Plasmidsaurus is building out our Product team and is looking to bring on our first true Product Manager. This is a dream role for a person who is dissatisfied with the current state of DNA sequencing and looking to change the way scientific research gets done in molecular biology. You’ll be instrumental in helping us unleash the next wave of our best-in-class sequencing services, as well as building and defining how product functions here at Plasmidsaurus. This role will serve as the glue between R&D, Revenue, Engineering, Labs, and Operations, and will ensure that we continue to deliver the kind of game-changing products our customers have come to expect from us.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Building amazing things. Leading the commercial development of new sequencing service offerings

  • Making sure we are focused on the right things. Conducting market assessments, competitive landscape analyses, customer interviews, and product positioning studies

  • Learning about the market and the customer. Analyzing key market trends, unmet needs, and potential disruptors in the sequencing world

  • Keeping our research grounded. Working closely with R&D to align commercial strategy, turning technology into products that provide value to our customers

  • Making our value clear. Working with product marketing to ensure our Revenue team understands the value we are providing and has the assets they need to be successful

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Deep knowledge of molecular biology or DNA sequencing and extensive experience with molecular biology techniques such as plasmid design, cloning, PCR, DNA/RNA extraction, and library preparation

  • A long list of products or services you’ve built that customers have loved

  • A record of prioritizing creating customer value above all else

  • Proven experience influencing cross-functional teams, and working effectively with customers, R&D, and sales teams

  • Experience building product roadmaps and product life cycle management

  • Demonstrated ability to develop creative solutions to overcome challenges

  • Degree in molecular biology, genetics or associated scientific field required

  • Outstanding leadership, teamwork, and communication skills

We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't perfectly align with the job description as we seek out diverse and creative perspectives. Team members who love to learn and collaborate in an inclusive environment will thrive with us. We are an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status. If you need additional accommodations to feel comfortable during your interview process, please let us know at [email protected].
