Compliance Associate, Product & Marketing Compliance
About the roleÂ
We are hiring a Compliance Associate to join our Product and Marketing Compliance team. As a Compliance Associate, you’ll assist in operationalizing compliance processes such as reviewing product materials, filing bonds for sweepstakes, and updating compliance documentation to provide consistency and educational materials for the rest of Chime. You’ll work with internal teams as well as with our issuing bank partners’ legal and compliance teams, to facilitate quality and innovative compliance risk management solutions. You’ll work with internal and external partners to review, advise and launch innovative products at Chime.
This role cannot be performed in the state of Colorado.Â
In this role, you can expect to
- Assist to set up and operationalize day to day corporate compliance responsibilities related marketing and growth compliance for our growing product offerings in the credit, lending, and deposit spaces, and responding to legal inquiries.
- Conduct compliance reviews for marketing and product teams for member-facing content.
- Create and review compliance guidance and publish to shared spaces.
- Become familiar with consumer laws and regulations related to the marketing and offering of consumer banking products to ensure Chime’s adherence and compliance with, but not limited to, the Truth In Lending Act (Regulation Z), Unfair, Deceptive or Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP), Electronic Funds Transfer Act (Regulation E), and Truth in Savings Act (Regulation DD), FTC Act §5, FTC Endorsement and Testimonial Guidelines as well as state-specific rules and regulations.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
To thrive in this role, you have  Â
- 3 or more years of experience in banking, credit, lending or deposits, or equivalent experience in product or marketing compliance.
- Broad knowledge of key regulations including but not limited to: Marketing and Advertising Compliance, UDAAP, FTC compliance, TILA (Reg Z), VISA branding rules, Electronic Funds Transfers (Reg E), and FCRA.
- Experience with regulations and industry guidelines applicable to mobile, social media, native advertising digital and traditional marketing, including the FTC Endorsement and Testimonial Guidelines and claim substantiation requirements.Â
- Advise on local laws and regulations regarding sweepstakes, promotions and contests, including registration and bonding requirements. Draft sweepstakes official rules and promotional terms/conditions and work directly with the business on required disclosure copy in marketing materials.
- Experience researching, interpreting, and applying banking rules, regulations, and industry standards practices.Â
- A desire to collaborate and have the ability to influence both your colleagues and external partners to achieve consensus on regulatory risk issues and appropriate mitigation.
- Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
- A creative mind for finding solutions that ensure the best experience for our members.
