Director, Compliance Strategy & Product Partnerships

This role will lead and grow the Compliance Strategy & Product Partnerships team. This team is responsible for advising product teams on compliance requirements and implementation, in addition to leading organizational planning across Compliance and overseeing a project management office. We are seeking a senior leader with a track record of success in both compliance and product management roles in the technology space.
What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):
- Develop and lead product advisory team with focus on a “technology-first” approach to solving compliance challenges
- Ingest complex compliance requirements and translate them into digestible, actionable product and engineering specifications
- Negotiate between Compliance and product teams to achieve product ambitions while upholding Coinbase’s culture of compliance.
- Oversee and execute annual and quarterly planning and budget exercises across Compliance
- Develop and lead Project Management Office to provide project management support as needed across the compliance organization
What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):
- 8+ years of experience in project management and compliance roles at a technology or financial technology firm
- Inspiring leader with the ability to recruit and grow a team from the ground up
- Demonstrated track record of success in negotiating positive outcomes between compliance and business stakeholders
- Experience working directly with product and engineering stakeholders, creating technical specifications and product and / or project briefs
- Data-driven approach to problem solving (intermediate to advanced SQL a plus)
- Experience leading planning and budgeting exercises for large organizations
- Expert project management skills and ability to abstract complex problems into digestible action items
- Ability to balance customer needs with compliance requirements
