Title: Director, Product Engineering
Position Overview:
The Director, Product Engineering is instrumental in the development of new and existing products and the building and implementation of coherent and scalable development processes. This position leads and manages endpoint’s R&D software development team, adopt, adapt and implement the best practices, standards and methodologies, manage the knowledge transfer, employee training and mentoring. Reporting to the VP of Engineering, the director closely interacts with internal customers such as IT and Operations, Support, and senior leaders. This position requires a technology leader with a unique combination of technical depth, industry awareness, customer sensibilities, vision and passion. The Director, Product Engineering is an integral to endpoint’s technology leadership team.
Responsibilities:
- In partnership with the Director, Product Strategy, lead the product technical roadmap to deliver business results.
- With the engineering leadership team, create and implement best practice production engineering; planning vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
- Work with the VP of Engineering in the prioritization and assessment of future projects and company and department goals.
- Attract, develop, and retain a team of highly skilled engineers well aligned in their understanding of both company and departmental objectives.
- Establish and drive quality processes and continuous improvement activities within the software development team, including coding standards, code reviews, unit testing, and other standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Collect, assess, and incorporate feedback from internal stakeholders to continuously improve processes within R&D engineering.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders/ customers to understand customer requirements thus translating to successful software development to achieve company goals and drive client satisfaction.
- Lead and drive cross-departmental project teams to ensure smooth product releases and implementations, including timely knowledge transfer and robust technical solutions.
- Review and provide feedback on architectural decisions to ensure scalable and compliant code and technology.
- Ensure proper and timely documentation is filed with the endpoint QA and represent R&D Software Development during audits and inspections
- Keep abreast with emerging technologies and integrate them into endpoint product suite.
- Stay up to date with US, EU and other international regulatory requirements to ensure the product remains compliant with current and future requirements.
- Responsible for software development delivery on time, within budget, as per specifications and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Attract, grow, and retain high performing engineers.
Qualifications:
Education:
- BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
- Prior experience as a senior leader within an engineering or technical function.
- Proven success managing and developing others in an engineering/software development team.
- Proven track record of coaching/mentoring individual contributors into more senior roles desired.
- Strong experience in a number of technologies, including C#/ JavaScript/CSS/JQuery/ASP.net
- Expertise in agile development processes with consistent high-quality deliverables.
- History of promoting and encouraging technology innovation within teams and among peers.
- Use of workforce analytics, data, and metrics to drive decision-making and achieve business goals.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills; ability to simplify and communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate a vision into an operating plan.
