Product Management @ Scoop

With more than 7 million carpooler trips taken, Scoop is the largest carpooling platform to ever exist in the United States. We’ve accomplished this by partnering with major employers across the country like LinkedIn, T-Mobile, and Bedrock, as Scoop delivers a combined Commuter and Customer experience that transforms the commute into a meaningful daily experience. 

The Product Management team is central to the effort of continuing to evolve those experiences to deliver even more value to Commuters and Customers alike. Now that the Scoop network has reached significant scale, the Scoop Product team has an exciting opportunity to establish a Product-driven Growth team and create new and innovative carpooling and commute solutions that previously were not possible. We’ll power this team by greatly expanding our investments in testing, experimentation, and new creative features that further unlock the daily Scoop experience.

The Director of Product, Growth will lead this effort, paving the way cross-functionally as we discover new growth-driving solutions for scheduling, matching, promotions, pricing, and the entire Scoop commute experience.

In this role, you will:

  • Establish and champion a strategic vision for the Growth team at Scoop, leading a cross-functional unit (direct and dotted-line) that includes Engineering, Data Science, UX, and Marketing
  • Leverage data, analytics, and user insights to rapidly design, develop, and execute Growth experiments
  • Build and scale successful products and core functionality that emerges from successful experimentation
  • Collaborate closely with the Marketplace (Operations) team to create and scale tooling and capabilities that enable marketplace management and optimization
  • Work directly with the Chief Product Officer to define and execute against a Growth roadmap that balances testing with right-sized investments in core experimentation infrastructure

You should:

  • Have 10+ years of experience in Product/Growth/ Operations, including leading these efforts in a fast-paced growth environment
  • Have a Bachelor’s degree or similar educational background that you leverage in being a great PM/Growth leader (CS, math, business, design, or possibly others)
  • Be exceptional at leveraging data and insights to make difficult prioritization considerations that balance Impact, Confidence, and Ease of execution
  • Have experience managing teams and leading cross-functional development and operational efforts across a variety of stakeholders, functions, and seniority levels
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills, collaborative instincts, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Be a fluent collaborator with Engineering (e.g. technical scoping, trade-off discussions) as well as Data Science & Analytics (e.g. experiment design, model development)

You might also:

  • Have an advanced (Master’s, PhD) degree that you leverage in your work
  • Have prior experience building and/or leading a Growth team
  • Thrive in contexts rich in ambiguity, uncertainty, risk-taking, and learning
  • Be knowledgeable about the rapid evolution of Mobility/Transportation
  • Like to play with and leverage data, including SQL/R/Python or similar skills
  • Be passionate about learning and challenging yourself in new environments
