About us

Weave Grid builds software to make it cheaper and safer for utilities to serve electric vehicles, add renewable energy resources, and save customers money. Our mission is to drive rapid decarbonization in the global transport and power sectors by intelligently connecting electric vehicles to the grid.

We are currently in market with early utility clients, and we must rapidly build and deliver product improvements to serve existing customers and win new deals from our deep pipeline. As a rapidly growing company, we are building a thoughtful, capable team that can adapt with our rapidly evolving circumstances.

Industry context We are living through historic changes in the ways people use transportation - a sector that is now one of the largest and fastest-growing sources of greenhouse gas emissions.

Electric vehicle (EV) sales are growing at over 60% a year, with vehicle manufacturers spending billions to get ready for an electric future. Boston Consulting Group estimates EVs will account for over half of all vehicle sales by 2030. Electric utilities see massive opportunities in this transformation, as the rise of EVs could drive more growth in energy demand over the next 10 years than any decade since the 1950s.

Larger EV fleets can also help support renewable energy sources on the grid. But to accommodate growth in EVs, utilities will need to make substantial investments in infrastructure and technology. Weave Grid's software helps meet the challenge of our transition to electrified transport.

Job description

On the way to achieving our ambitious climate impact goals, we're growing our utility client base rapidly, as well as expanding the universe of electric vehicle drivers we can serve.

To succeed as a business and make meaningful progress on reducing carbon emissions, we need to develop technical integrations that allow us to connect, delight and shape the behavior of EV drivers. These integrations may touch electric vehicle OEMs, EVs directly, utilities and other strategic partners.

We're looking for a creative, tenacious, organized product manager to help build our foundational set of partner integrations.

You'll focus initially on OEM integrations, broadening the set of EV drivers to whom we provide benefits through our utility contracts, as well as the capabilities that help us deliver drivers more substantial value.

Over time you may shift to focus on integrations with other partners, targeting other initiatives critical to company strategic objectives and the value we offer to EV drivers and utility partners.

You'll set ambitious but focused roadmaps to enrich the product through integrations, then collaborate closely with technical and business stakeholders to deliver this functionality. To do so, you'll manage day-to-day development of integration functionality, maintaining clear artifacts to guide the team and empowering technical partners to implement effective solutions.

Most of all, while pursuing your integration objectives you'll employ structured processes to test new concepts and validate product needs, de-risking development efforts and new launches.

Core Responsibilities

Deeply understand the most critical needs of electric vehicle OEM and other strategic partners - clearly communicating your insights to engineering teams and business stakeholders

Partner with engineers, designers and other product stakeholders to rapidly conceive, validate and launch new integration functionality that creates value for WeaveGrid OEM partners, connected EV drivers and utility customers

Develop roadmaps and structured processes to consistently deliver complex new features on accelerated timelines

Ruthlessly prioritize initiatives with well-justified potential impact

Maintain alignment across a variety of stakeholders through clear and constant communication

Collaborate closely with team designers and subject matter experts to develop and get representative user feedback on prototypes and mockups of varying fidelity

Define and track metrics that illuminate the performance of shipped features, learning from and adapting based on results

About you

You have an insatiable desire to ship valuable features and help your end users. You are structured and methodical in your work, developing artifacts that are easy for your partners and collaborators to understand and build from.

You're scrappy and driven - able to get things done even with limited resources. You actively seek out compelling evidence for your decisions, particularly insights on user behavior. You don't take claims at face value and seek to confirm any beliefs you develop.

You are a team player, committed to helping colleagues and accomplishing shared goals.

You want to apply your talents to meaningfully address risks from climate change. In particular, you share the WeaveGrid team's commitment to achieving outcomes that support the shift to electrified transport and a decarbonized electric grid.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in product management, ideally with complex, data-intensive products

Demonstrated ability to define a product vision and achieve it by setting clear, actionable interim steps

Comfort with with API specs, technical documentation and SQL (joins, filters, grouping)

Passion for documentation that makes your team more productive

Empathy for the needs of partners using your shipped software

Clear and succinct communication practices - verbally and in writing

Demonstrated ability to help your teams navigate ambiguity, collaborate effectively and establish a shared vision

Interest in diving into emerging technologies and industries

Strongly preferred: familiarity with basic statistics

Culture and mission Beyond your core skills and track record, you are someone who will expand the culture and cumulative wisdom of the team as a whole. This can take many forms - relevant past projects, hard-won perspective from personal history, an unusual or adjacent skillset, a motivating passion, and so on. We are whole individuals, not just functional role-fillers, and we value everything that you can bring to the team.

Finally, you should be strongly motivated by Weave Grid's mission. Energy and transportation expertise are not necessary, but it is important that you are passionate about tackling the climate crisis head on, by improving societal and environmental health.

Compensation and location

We are looking to fill this position as soon as possible. Compensation will include competitive salary, equity, and benefits. Weave Grid is based in San Francisco but is open to considering remote candidates in the US for some roles.
