Lead Engineering Product Manager, Money Platform
About the role
As a Lead Engineering Product Manager on the Money Platform team, you’ll sit at the core of Chime, building and facilitating the payments and transfers engine our members and agents use every day. You’ll synthesize our existing experiences (checks, cash, ACH, cards) and build new API platform capabilities - nouns and verbs, that enable product managers and teams to build new experiences that move money safely while you maintain a holistic view of our members' experience using Chime. Your work is critical to our mission of enabling fast, reliable, low cost, and surprisingly great access to money.
You'll partner with Engineering, Product, Infrastructure, Security, Machine Learning, Banking Partners, and other cross-functional partners to prioritize work based on impact and drive strong execution. A strong technical background will accelerate your ability to contribute, while previous experience developing software that enables card processing, ACH, checks, ledgers, bookkeeping or lending will help you jump right in. Importantly, you thrive on building something new.
This job cannot be performed in the state of Colorado.
In this role, you can expect to
- Serve as product owner for our money movement platform; developing the backlog, capturing requirements, and shipping product incrementally in collaboration with engineering
- Collaborate with technical, product, and design leaders across Chime to learn and understand their requirements, manage dependencies, and plan for their future needs
- Build strong relationships with Chime’s partners to align requirements and reduce velocity bottlenecks as you coordinate complicated multi-team features.
- Develop deep empathy with Chime members, protecting their access to money.Â
- Communicate progress, value, and blockers to the wider business
- Establish metrics for measuring velocity and success of platform investments
To thrive in this role, you have
- 8+ years of product management experience
- Technical skills, with experience and track record of success in building high-velocity, low-latency, high-availability services
- The ability to be practical and are eager to collaborate/compromise to get to the best, most efficient outcome
- A clear metrics-oriented focus that measures the reliability of our systems
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally to align stakeholders on the goals and behaviors required for success
- Experience developing software first hand - through school (B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline) or work experiencesÂ
