Principal Product Manager, Personalization
As a product manager for Personalization, your mission will be to enable Udemy to reach, convert, & retain existing and potential users profitably and at scale through existing and new technical initiatives. Success requires a passion for building great products and enthusiasm for leading high performing teams, working in partnership with engineering, multiple data science, marketing, and business development stakeholders in an Agile & Lean product delivery environment, leading the creation and enhancement of capabilities through the entire product lifecycle – from strategic planning through tactical execution and post-launch measurements. We are seeking a combination of strong vision, strategic leverage, team leadership, and high-velocity execution.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Lead the strategy, prioritization, and execution for new and existing marketing channels (Onsite, Push, Email, and more), tools, and initiatives that support the marketing team - be their advocate
- Scale our marketing efforts by building or buying tools to enhance our product offering to our end users (Email, Campaign Management Platform, Customer Data Platform, Digital Asset Management, and more)
- Define, monitor and measure product metrics and KPIs, incorporate learnings into product definition and development process
- Build an in-depth understanding of our B2B and B2C customers, internal users, integrations, systems, API’s, marketing tools, and channels
- Drive cross-functional collaboration to deliver successful products and/or features
- Communicate product vision to senior management and various stakeholders
We’re excited about you because you have:
- BA/BS required or equivalent
- You have a passion for Martech
- 5+ years of product management experience in building and shipping products for cross-functional marketing and product teams
- Minimum of 2+years experience managing product managers
- Communicate performance to marketing team leadership and other stakeholders to promote a shared understanding of performance marketing strategy, ROI, and opportunities
- Experience shipping production-scale machine learning-powered products
- You have great attention to detail but base your strategy on the big picture objectives.
- You understand how technology can solve customer problems and can engage in the details with the engineering team to find simpler solutions
- Knowledge of agile development methodologies and tools
- An intuitive understanding of the differences between traditional software and data product development cycles
- Passion about the education space and the problems we are solving
- Comfortable collaborating with local and remote Product and Engineering teams (Ireland and Turkey)
Nice to haves:
- BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical field is ideal
- Experience with delivering products for two-sided marketplaces/platforms
- Experience with SQL for pulling and analyzing data
- Experience with ML/AI
