Product Communications Manager at Faire

We are seeking a product Communications Manager to implement a communications strategy that tells the story of the Faire platform and the benefits our products bring to entrepreneurs around the world. You will play a key role in helping reporters, industry influencers, and other important audiences understand how the Faire marketplace empowers entrepreneurs. This is an ideal job for a creative and collaborative storyteller who loves to get into the details of tech products and features and believes that the future of retail is local.  


About the team

The product Communications Manager will report to the Head of Communications and is the third hire to  the Faire communications team. The Communications team works as part of the larger Faire Marketing team, a cross-functional group that collaborates across channels to help reach the entrepreneurs Faire is built to serve and support.

As the Product Communications Manager, you will:

  • Execute media relations to evangelize the Faire product story in key media markets and generate understanding of the best in class tools we are building
  • Ensure Brands and Retailers understand Faire’s product offerings and are aware of success stories from our marketplace
  • Devise and lead product communications and proactive media campaigns for Faire products and services
  • Build and maintain meaningful relationships with key technology and retail press
  • Develop and create a wide range of communications materials including blog posts, communications plans, statements, briefing materials for executives and more
  • Source and develop product-focused stories from the Faire marketplace from concept to distribution
  • Build relationships with Faire technical and designer leaders and identify opportunities to highlight their work externally
  • Manage messaging for marketplace policy issues and escalate to the right business stakeholders to prevent negative comms


Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant work experience (in-house experience and agency/editorial experience preferred)
  • Experience with consumer tech PR; Creative, thoughtful and passionate about innovation storytelling
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; extensive experience drafting blog posts and media materials
  • Experience with apparel, B2B, data, or policy communications is a bonus but not required
  • Newshound - you love to read news and have a keen awareness of what makes a great story
  • Skilled at managing up, prioritizing, and setting expectations for other team leads
