The Team

At Torch, the Product Department exists to create a product that allows us to understand our users and customers in a profound and unbiased way. What challenges do they face, what are their needs, what drives them, what excites them, what makes them do what they do?

Torch is looking for a Product Designer who will be joining a small but growing product design team. You are someone who is energized by the opportunity to contribute to the evolution of our product design organization while fostering a close partnership with the Product Managers (PMs) and the Head of Product to create a high-functioning human-centered practice. Additionally, you will be working in close collaboration with PMs and Engineering on large and engaging product areas where you will have ownership and an equal voice through the whole product lifecycle. 

This role will be reporting to the Director of Product Design.

Your Position:

• You will solve complex user, business, product, and design problems across multiple channels.
• You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other key stakeholders throughout the whole Product Design Lifecycle.
• You will influence and communicate a vision compellingly to various stakeholders by creating narratives to frame problems and highlight potential solutions’ business value.
• You will partner and work closely with engineering to ideate, iterate, and deliver a fantastic product.
• You will educate and reinforce the power of design-thinking culture.

Your Experience:

• You have 2-5 years of work experience in Product Design and the UI/UX field on a product that has shipped.
• You have a growth mindset of “always learning”.
• You have a solid understanding of user-centered design methods and best practices.
• You can plan, design, execute and communicate at both a strategic and a tactical level.
• You have excellent project management, communication, and presentation skills.
• You have experience working in cross-functional teams (e.g., Product Design, Product Management, Engineering, Customer Success, Sales, Go To Market, Product Marketing, Marketing, etc.)
• Bonus Skill: You have experience in User Research.
• Bonus Skill: You have experience with Front-end development (HTML, CSS, JS, React).
• Bonus Skill: You have experience building and managing design systems.
• Bonus Skill: You have an understanding of the ecosystems of learning & development, behavioral science, leadership, employee success, coaching, and/or workforce management.
