Product Lead, Identity
About the Role
This role can be based in the Chicago or San Francisco office.
At Chime, we believe in the power of our product to help people lead healthier financial lives. Our risk team is tasked with keeping our members’ accounts safe, providing them uninterrupted access to their money, and minimizing the company’s risk exposure and fraud loss. We are looking for a Product Lead to help build the future of identity for Chime members. You will help build the team team that will be responsible for delivering the roadmap for authentication, identity verification, KYC, and other identity initiatives. You will partner with risk operations, engineering, and data science teams to build, test, execute, and iterate new and existing product solutions that protect our members, keep Chime compliant, and create a world-class experience for our members.
You will drive decision-making through customer insights, quantitative analysis, and collaborating with other stakeholders. You will own the end-end strategy, roadmap, and execution of Identity. This includes, but is not limited to infrastructure, product experience, collaboration with operations, and engineering roadmap. You bring deep empathy but can effectively prioritize with limited resources. You have a growth mindset and want to be challenged. You have a high bar and want to be a difference-maker in the organization. You’ll bring a sense of urgency that matches the incredible opportunity we have ahead of us.
In this role you can expect to
- Define the vision and mission of the Identity team and build a world class organization
- Own and drive the product roadmap for our Identity team to protect our members, keep Chime compliant, and create a world-class experience for our members.
- Strategize, develop, and build upon solutions with data science and engineering to combat ever-changing fraud attack patterns
- Collaborate with other product and operations teams to scale with Chime’s fast growing member base
- Evangelize risk initiatives across ChimeÂ
- Engage the risk community by participating in meet-ups, conferences, and other industry initiatives to stay up to date on best practices
- Do things that don’t scale and iterate towards minimum-loveable-products that allow us to test our hypotheses while delivering a quality customer experience.
To thrive in this role youÂ
- 6+ years experience as a product manager with preference in Identity or Trust & Safety
- 2+ years managing and leading teams
- Strong customer empathy and experience shaping product direction and execution based on customer needs
- Strong data analytical skills and experience with machine learning and AI methodologies
- Empathy for users and a drive to discover and resolve their pain pointsÂ
- An owner’s mindset - you don’t shy away from the hard stuff
- Experience at a fast-growing startup in a cross-functional environment
- Passion for our mission: helping members lead healthy financial lives
- Strong collaboration in team environments but able to act quickly as the decision-maker
