We are looking for a Growth Product Manager who will increase the number of students we are able to serve (aka increase enrollments in our programs) by building a best-in-class experience from discovery to and through purchase.

In this role you would be responsible for increasing the prospective student to enrollment conversion rate. While marketing will focus on how to reach and engage possible prospective students, our “growth” product efforts include designing and building the sites and experiences that get a lead from initial interest to enrollment. In this role you would need to deeply understand and be able to refine Pathstream’s value proposition and prescribed product market fit. You would also be responsible for translating that into an experience that converts prospective students to enrollments. Responsibilities include:

  • Use analytics to identify improvement areas in the enrollment funnel
  • Sourcing and designing experiments for landing pages / pre-enrollment experience
  • Partner with design to translate experiment ideas into mockups and prototypes
  • Partner with engineering and marketing to implement experiments based on the designs
  • Interpret experiment results to scope new feature builds that increase enrollment rates and best match students to programs
  • Partner with engineering on building new features based on experiment results and vision for the enrollment experience.
  • Set Service Level Objectives (SLOs) to define success for the growth part of the product
  • Think creatively about new directions for the enrollment experience (to avoid optimizing around a local maximum)

In this role you would be a close collaborator with:

  • Marketing (Product Marketing Manager, Growth Marketer, etc.)
  • “Content Ops” (copywriters, Contentful experts)
  • “EPD” (engineering, product, design, analytics, end-to-end UX)
  • Career Services (career coaches, to understand our student’s ultimate goals)

Strong candidates will have experience optimizing marketing funnels through a data driven and experiment-based approach and will have experience crafting value propositions for an education or similar offering. Prior experience as a product manager for growth or as an entrepreneur (e.g., running your own ecommerce site) would be highly applicable..

This is a vital role on the Pathstream product team (the second PM hire) and in it you would serve as a key member as the team grows in the future. Strong candidates will have experience optimizing marketing funnels through a data driven / testing approach and will have experience crafting value propositions for an education or similar offering.

This is a full-time position which can be remote or based at Pathstream’s headquarters in downtown San Francisco, CA (or a flexible combination of the two).
