Our Verification and Safety team is focusing on maintaining the integrity of our identity and neighborhood presence verification systems, as well as detecting and removing bad actors from our platform, all while creating a delightful onboarding experience for new members.

The Impact You’ll Make

As a Verification and Safety Product Manager, you will be the ‘go-to’ leader for multiple cross-functional teams to deliver the latest neighborhood presence and identity verification methods. You will work closely with our Growth, Partnership, and Support teams (in all markets) to develop a long-term vision for verification and safety on Nextdoor. You will also:

  • Remain up-to-date on industry trends and emerging issues in the Verification and Trust & Safety space and design process or product solutions. 
  • Work closely with cross-functional partners (policy, product management, data analytics, operations, engineering, machine learning) to identify, assess and resolve trust-related issues in our products, promote neighborhood vitality with optimization of product features and product strategy. 
  • Brainstorm, assess, and support the implementation of innovative product safety features and internal processes that/to advance trust and safety at Nextdoor.
  • Build long-term instrumentation, monitoring and evaluation capabilities for product performance, tracking, and to create product insights.
  • Collaborate and communicate across the entire organization to ensure proper safety management and security measures are embedded on new projects and initiatives.
  • Evaluate third-party tools and vendors and manage integration and relationship with them.

What You’ll Bring to The House

  • 3-5 years of work experience in product management/ strategy; a plus if with onboarding/trust & safety/identity strategy experiences. 
  • Strong analytical thinking in order to interpret data, quickly identify problems, thoroughly analyze results, deliver feasible solutions, closely monitor risk, and accurately benchmark our performance.
  • Experience leading post-launch optimizations and using SQL for rich analysis, experimentation and A/B testing. Extremely focused on data and analytics to solve problems and a track record of driving results through continuous improvement.
  • Experience in UI/UX testing and validation.
  • Experience with project management and coordination, and experience working closely with the engineering team / design team and other partner teams to guarantee effective execution of product plans.
  • Excellent written and communication skills especially to senior executives.
  • Natural ability to make things happen around you. You manage project ambiguity, complexity and interdependencies in an organized and structured way. 
  • Be able to define and analyze metrics that inform the success of products.
  • Investigative instincts, with the ability to sift through symptoms quickly to find the root cause.

Bonus Points

  • Past experience delivering authentication and verification systems, including OAuth, 2FA and SAML.
  • Past experience designing for and delivering products for social networks or community-focused products.
