HOW YOU’LL HELP EVERYONE PET PARENT LIKE A PRO

Over the past two years, the Wisdom Panel product group has reimagined the pet parent DNA testing experience. In 2020 we launched Wisdom Panel Essential and Premium, which have become top-rated pet DNA tests on Amazon. This year, we launched our first consumer cat DNA test (Wisdom Panel Complete for Cats), as well as a major update to our breed detection system. We’re the most used dog DNA test on the market (over 2.5 million dogs tested), the most accurate breed test in the market (>98%), and we’re used in over 1,000 veterinary clinics across the US. We are on a mission to leverage DNA testing as an entry point into a larger ecosystem of services and are looking for creative and strategic thinkers to take us to the next level. 

As the Senior Product Manager - Platform, you will lead a pod of 3-5 engineers as well as niche contractors in the support of developing the Wisdom Panel platform. You will own the product roadmap for our veterinary, shelter, and other B2B businesses in addition to the overall health of the platform. This role works very closely with business development and engineering and will focus on growing out new streams of revenue for the business.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Own our B2B product strategy and feature roadmap to deliver on the needs of a diverse array of user types
• Build a deep understanding of veterinary, shelter, and other B2B user needs
• Collaborate with engineering and business development to evolve the Wisdom Panel platform to accommodate new use cases and revenue streams.
• Drive execution against plan, anticipating risk, and lead discussion via frequent, clear communication, both internally and with partners
• Lead through influence. Build teamwork through trusted relationships. Motivate a group of committed, smart people to do the best work of their careers
• Contribute to the strategic vision for Wisdom Panel, Kinship, and Mars Petcare more broadly

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• 5+ years of Product Management experience working on revenue-generating, technical products
• A proven track record of product launches where you have taken a product from concept to launch, driving product vision, defining go-to-market strategy, creating product roadmaps, driving UX decisions, and steering technical implementation discussions
• Deep understanding of software development for B2B products
• Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage trade offs, and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with internal and external partners
• High attention to detail including precise and effective stakeholder communication, and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
• Strong people skills and experience positively influencing team cultures
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills
• Ability to think strategically while being willing to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done.
