The Role

APIs are at the core of Hippo’s success and future growth, making us a standout brand. We also leverage external data sources extensively to offer best-in-class customer experience. The Senior Product Manager, APIs, is a key member of the small and fast-moving product management team at Hippo. In this role, you will be responsible for significant parts of Hippo’s APIs, both with our business partners and our data providers. This will entail maintaining and improving existing APIs, as well as creating brand new ones to further enhance Hippo’s offerings.

About You

You are an experienced product manager with deep technical chops and a bias for action. You thrive on the ownership of high-profile full product launches, while influencing cross-functional stakeholders, and making data- driven business decisions. You demonstrate tenacity, resilience, and leadership enabling you to organize and lead projects, overcome challenges, and propose solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Lead significant parts of Hippo’s partner APIs.
• Own Hippo’s 3rd party data integrations.
• Build and maintain relationships with key partners.
• Create best-in-class services through accurate spec writing, project management and data analysis.
• Work cross functionally with Product, Finance, and Engineering.

Requirements:

• BS degree in a relevant field.
• 3+ years of experience as a product manager, owning and driving significant technical cross-organizational projects.
• Significant experience working with APIs, either on the product side setting specifications, or as an engineer.
• Creative thinking paired with strong execution. 
• Comfort with rapidly changing business needs that is typical of a fast growing company.
• Demonstrated data analysis capabilities, including SQL knowledge.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Backend engineering experience.
• Prior startup experience.
• Experience with consumer facing products is a plus but not required.
