• Build full-stack applications, tooling, and frameworks to improve the productivity of Discord's product, analytics, and machine learning teams, using modern technologies such as BigQuery, Cassandra, Apache Beam, Pub/Sub, and Airflow. Frontend applications, as applicable, are built on React.
• Influence product telemetry practices to support product, analytics, and machine learning needs
• Work with our analytics and data science teams to improve data models for performant storage/retrieval and fulfill important product requirements
• Contribute to and promote data engineering and governance standards across Discord

• You have 4+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.
• Experience with at least one of the following languages: Python, Java, Scala.
• Experience building and deploying large-scale distributed systems
• Experience or exposure to a variety of datastores (relational, NoSQL, data warehouse solutions).
• Strong working knowledge of relational databases and query authoring (SQL).
• You are a first principles thinker that can work with others to create solutions — and then evolve and generalize them.
• You can take a high-level goal and provide shippable code.

• Experience working with very high scale data infrastructure
• Experience with data products on Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, or Airflow
• Full-stack development or product engineering experience
