The Unity Team Tools & Services team is seeking an experienced Technical Product Manager with a deep knowledge of developer pipelines and version control tools to drive the development and integration of version control within the Unity engine. You will work most closely with the Unity community as well as internal engineers, designers, researchers and more.

In this role, you will be responsible for gaining a holistic view of how the Unity creators work with different version control services and tools. You will work towards creating a great in-editor user experience as well as ensuring that the engine works wonderfully with popular version control services. The goal is to ensure that version control is a first class and seamless experience for all Unity creators, no matter their level of expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and vision for how we can improve version control experiences, folding in product requirements gained from multiple sources to identify current and future customer needs.
  • Drive the design and implementation of features end-to-end, including capturing and technically documenting feature requests from an array of stakeholders (both internal and external) and working with UX/UI designers to develop workflow diagrams, storyboards, wireframes and prototypes.
  • Work closely with stakeholders across the company to communicate plans and create a collaborative environment with transparency and visibility.
  • Foster an environment that supports testing hypotheses and embraces taking new directions based on the outcome.
  • Assist in building business cases and analytical insights for new business initiatives: this requires identifying key issues, quantitatively analyzing related metrics, and communicating results back to the team & stakeholders

Requirements

  • Bilingual in both English and Spanish
  • Familiarity with version control services (GitHub, Perforce, PlasticSCM, etc.) and a deep understanding of how they work.
  • Strong expertise in product definition and business strategy with demonstrated experience using datasets to drive strategic decisions for a set of products, tools, or services, with experience in creating alignment in cross-discipline and cross-organization teams
  • Ability to work autonomously with globally distributed teams and partners
  • Demonstrate the success of a product and tradeoffs from multiple angles (i.e. business goals, user goals, technology goals)

Bonus Points

  • Knowledge of the Unity ecosystem and/or development with Unity
  • Experience in software development using C++, C# or another major language
  • Knowledge and experience in scalable services, ideally using cloud infrastructure
