To support our business growth and expanding portfolio of companies in the Coinbase family, we are looking for an experienced Senior Enterprise Product Manager - Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A). This role is a blend of Technical Program Management and Enterprise Product Management and will be accountable for ensuring the proper systems integrations of acquired companies into Coinbase’s core platforms. What this means is you'll be at the forefront of all our M&A activity to  integrate systems/processes/people into a cohesive and efficient IT landscape by prioritizing and coordinating the most important IT capabilities for the acquisition. This role will partner closely with several Coinbase departments including HR, Finance, IT, Security, and Enterprise Applications to ensure a successful integration of Coinbase's M&A transactions.

Success in this role means carefully balancing the needs to provide acquisitions autonomy to unlock their full potential while building synergies and scale with the broader Coinbase EAA enterprise platforms.

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):

  • Be an advocate for both the acquired company’s needs to grow and Coinbase’s need to standardize for scalability/growth
  • Present demos of systems capabilities to EAA IT team to ensure current-state capabilities are well understood and documented, and inversely demo Coinbase platforms and capabilities to the acquired organization
  • Synthesize company goals of acquisition and supporting requirements to define MVP functional requirements and processes for QBRs and roadmap definition
  • Identify and creatively resolve complex technical and cross-functional issues (often unique to each acquisition and technology landscape)
  • Prioritize and maintain M&A backlog and cross-backlog interdependencies
  • Capture and influence business team’s vision and requirements
  • Team up with Eng leaders and drive solutions to highly technical problems
  • Identify communication gaps, lead issue resolutions and provide support to teams balancing contending priorities

Program Management - M&A

  • Build an M&A systems integration playbook that will systemize the IT systems integration of a newly acquired company
  • Coordinate and track progress of engineering work on platforms for multiple acquisitions: 
    • CX (Salesforce Service Cloud, Chatbots, Customer Communities, Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) for help.com,Tethr/Qualtrics, LivePerson)
    • Product & Engineering (Salesforce Customer Communities for Institutional onboarding, Custody Billing)
    • HR / Finance (Workday, Netsuite, Coupa)
    • Compliance (Salesforce Service Cloud, Refinitiv)
    • Coverage (Salesforce Sales Cloud)
  • Articulate integrate/replace/retire recommendations for key capabilities required to deliver various aspects of the product solution
  • Connect and orchestrate the end-to-end M&A technical work by all technology and non-tech teams, including CX, Compliance, Privacy, Infosec, etc.
  • Run periodic retrospectives to gather feedback and best practices. Continually refine and improve processes for acquisition and integration
  • Create a comprehensive project plan which includes all workstream and functional team tasks to achieve the success milestones, managing the day-to-day integration efforts
  • Define, track, and communicate appropriate performance measurements to project team and partners, holding cross functional teams accountable for deliverables and quickly identifying and escalating issues
  • Potentially handle multiple acquisition integration projects simultaneously
  • Participate in continuous improvements and best practices to develop a playbook for the long-term integration practice at Coinbase
  • Partner with other Enterprise Product Managers and EAA Engineering teams to prioritize, plan, and execute in a Plan-Buy/Configure/Integrate-Run model

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

  • BA/BS degree, driven, self-starter with a passion for excellence (MBA or Masters in an engineering related subject area is a plus)
  • 7+ years total experience as a product manager (technical domain), technical program manager, engineering leader, or related subject area
  • 3+ years M&A experience, or relevant integration program management experience. Strong preference for M&A experience at a leading Financial Services or technology company
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly technical environment
  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities. Ability to speak fluently with both technical and non-technical partners at all levels of the organization
  • Experience leading change management programs
  • Hands on, can do attitude, results orientated, highly organized and passionate about the business and the customers
  • Direct experience leading 2 or more M&A technology integration programs
  • Hands-on experience with at least two of the following: Salesforce, Netsuite, Workday, Coupa, 
  • High technical aptitude and an ability to understand or quickly learn technical designs, challenges, and risks
  • Strong organizational skills to handle multiple, competing priorities simultaneously, without losing sight of the highest priority items
  • Strong attention to detail and project management skills

Nice to haves:

  • 10+ years of IT experience in a variety of roles.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent combination of education
  • Extensive M&A experience leading multiple IT focused initiatives
  • Led cross functional teams to achieve goals
  • Leadership experience with technical teams
