Shared Services will define, direct and guide the product roadmaps for platform related capabilities.
The capabilities within the platform will enable the internal and external developers of PagerDuty Platform across the strategic and internal infrastructure services that serve to enable internal teams and stakeholders. (APIs, Webhooks, Auth, etc.)
and will be able to direct and work with delivery teams to incorporate the PagerDuty platforms needs into future roadmaps. The role will work closely with colleagues in product management, product design, security, and product development in teams to modernize and progress our developer platform products. A good candidate will have a record of ownership of software products/services targeted to developer infrastructure and services, and will also ideally have technical product management experience in similar industries.
- Identify, conceptualize and define roadmap and provide prioritization for platform infrastructure initiatives, API products and strategic integrations
- Drive recommendations for technical improvements aimed to stay current with the market opportunities and scale our products efficiently
- Define features and user stories, work with the delivery team to groom, plan and schedule work
- Define and track metrics for success, ensuring the team is clear on their objectives and outcomes
- Accountable for the working with product documentation team to create documentation for product changes
- Work with internal business and technology stakeholders to influence platform strategy and platform upkeep & maintenance using the newly available technology solutions to scale while staying cost efficient
- Responsible for driving modernization strategies in order to solve business and technology requirements for our developer partners
- Collaborate effectively with other product teams and other stakeholders to synthesize & manage business requirements, scope, and solutions
- Lead product demos for internal and external stakeholders on the technical products owned
- 5+ years of experience in Technical Product Management or 2+ years of technical product management combined with 3+ years of technical development experience
- Strong skills and demonstrated experience in managing core platform features such as entity frameworks, APIs, Authorization and Authentication, webhooks, notifications (sms, voice and push), Cloud Technologies (AWS,Azure)
- Near code level technical proficiency with modern API design, architectures and development
- Demonstrated success using data-driven decision making, as well as design thinking
- Can write, speak, and think about complicated and highly technical problems with uncommon lucidity. Don't throw PRDs over the fence and hope for the best
- Experienced in working with and empathize with customers/integrators using APIs & technical products. You can sit down with users, capture feedback and synthesize it in to a meaningful feature set
- Ability to work autonomously with a balanced team approach, you don't need to wait for directions, but know when buy-in is critical
- Proven record of product management accomplishments and initiatives with demonstrated success in building and launching iteratively
- Bachelor's in Engineering, Computer Science, technical related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience working with cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure
- DevOps domain experience
- Prior experience in engineering is highly preferred
