The value of this position

Reporting to the CTO, the Vice President, Product will advance the company’s product vision and strategy, working in concert with development, growth, operations, sales and customer success teams to achieve growth objectives, furthering Embroker’s mission of helping businesses succeed by reinventing the commercial insurance Industry.


As a product leader that is customer centric, data-driven, and growth-oriented, the VP Product will identify compelling market opportunities, solve customer problems in new and innovative ways and continue to create differentiation in the marketplace. This executive will have a proven track record of understanding complex, regulated markets to deliver world-class products and solutions that satisfy customer needs, on time and within budget.


What you will own in this role

  • Product Strategy - Develop and execute a differentiated product vision that will inspire the company as a whole, and define a roadmap for Embroker’s products, designed to achieve a specific set of objectives.
  • Execution - Deliver seamless user experiences and solutions, reflecting Embroker’s core value and brand proposition of an elegant, innovative approach to complex business processes that seamlessly blends digital tools and engagement with expert advisors. Devise and execute a winning plan with full consideration for business and organizational capacities.
  • Product Culture – Establish an outcome-oriented mindset in the team, focussing on results, not features. Institute data-driven decisioning to measure success or failure. Fail, but fail quickly and often - continually test and learn for continuous improvement and innovation to maximize the value within each product offering. 
  • Cross-Functional Leadership - Collaborate with engineering, growth, operations, sales and customer success teams to align on product priorities and enable successful product/feature launch and go-to-market.
  • Communication – Evangelize product vision across the organization. Communicate clear plans, deliverables, and timelines to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strategic Relationship Management – Build strong rapport and establish a trusted relationships with customers, partners, service providers, and stakeholders, including with insurance carriers, corporate partners, and strategic commercial relationships.
  • Team Development - Develop great talent from a team of strong product managers, usability, and designers, focussing on recruiting, training, and ongoing coaching/mentorship.


What experience we think is the right fit 

  • Experience creating an actionable set of product metrics that measure performance and drive decision-making.
  • Ability to command the room and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to establish key cultural mindsets within their team by leveraging frameworks and approaches related to objective/goal setting, data-driven decisioning, accountability, experimentation, and growth strategies.
  • Listens to feedback from across the business to inform decision-making while understanding the cross-functional impact that specific decisions might have.
  • Track record of operationalizing the delivery of the product vision through projects, roadmaps, feature definition, releases and go-to-market plans; emphasis on operating rhythm of the organization, efficiencies and rapid time to market.
  • A product evangelist with prospects, analysts, customers, partners and employees.
  • Ability to identify challenges, market trends and opportunities to gain market share and drive performance improvements. 
  • Experience driving customer research and stakeholder engagement – ability to get a strong sense of Embroker’s customers and their needs – deliver solutions at scale.
  • Experience successfully working with distributed teams across multiple time zones and adapting project management frameworks to team capabilities and business requirements
  • Someone with good prototyping and design experience across multiple applications of technology (working different data flows & input channels) and the ability to prioritize multiple work streams.
  • Proven skills as a product strategist and innovator, ideally within a SMB business.
